OL stuff: Our current belief regarding Michigan's offensive line situation following the surprise flip of Devery Hamilton to Stanford is that the Wolverines will not reach to fill a slot and would instead focus on offensive tackle in 2017, a cycle where the staff is in the mix for a ton of top prospects.

The decision against reaching is backed up by the odd (our opinion) pursuit of Lawrenceville (GA) Top100 tackle E.J. Price, who will not officially visit Michigan and appears to be down to Auburn and Georgia, the two programs he has been favoring for over six months now.

Names like Will Fries (PSU commit) will pop up, but based on the intel immediately following Hamilton's decommitment, Michigan may end up standing pat unless they can pull an ace out of their sleeve. This theoretical decision would put more pressure on the three current commitments to pan out and in particular Hartland (WI) Arrowhead's Ben Bredeson. Bredeson has been projected as a guard by the staff but is someone who could play any of the five spots on the offensive line, including center, where a sizable void may be.

Next weekend, Michigan will host 2017 five-star Isaiah Wilson among others. Wilson is a top target for the staff and the Wolverines are currently in good shape. Two things to remember, however: one, we're expecting the visit to go really well with Wilson. Would he verbally commit? We're not ruling it out. That being said, prepare for a ride in this recruitment. Michigan knows it, we know it and those surrounding Wilson know it. Second, a good haul in 2017 means little as far as there being a sizable hole in Michigan's offensive line after the 2016 season, particularly if recruits like Wilson (whose ceiling is massive but far away) are the types they end up reeling in.

Murphy: Phoenix (AZ) Brophy Prep four-star Connor Murphy is someone I had been close to putting in a 247Sports Crystal Ball on for a while, as the Wolverines were considered the favorite over USC and Oregon after both schools switched defensive coordinators this off-season.

However, there's considerable question right now as to whether or not Murphy is academically qualified to attend Michigan. Because of that, there's a very legitimate chance that he commits elsewhere on Wednesday. Exactly where is something we're not sure of, but it could be USC.

This would be considered a disappointment on Michigan's end, as Murphy is a player they would have liked to have added to the class.

DLS duo: There continues to be some optimism with the Concord (CA) De La Salle duo of Devin Asiasi and Boss Tagaloa, with the status quo remaining as far as the chances being better with the former rather than the latter.

Asiasi spoke to Wolverine247 contributor Isaiah Hole on Friday night and said that Alabama, USC and Michigan were the three schools he felt "most comfortable" at. This was an interesting revelation as Washington has been a program both Tagaloa and Asiasi were believed to be very high on. It could have been a misstep, as our intel has suggested the Huskies are a legitimate threat for both players.

Michigan believes that Asiasi's family would prefer he stay closer to home, but will not stop him from going to an Alabama or Michigan that's further away.

Alabama, however, is about to get a commitment from former Texas A&M tight end commit Irvin Smith. That would give them three similar style tight ends, and they may only look at Asiasi on the defensive side if he wanted in, as he presents more flexibility than the others committed to the Tide. We do not see Alabama as a factor.

Young: We do not believe that Keyshawn "Pie" Young will end up signing with the Wolverines this Wednesday. All signs appear to be pointing towards Louisville as his eventual home, as the Cardinals have made a late surge in his 247Sports Crystal Ball following a recent visit to the school.

Our intel says that Young has tried committing to the Wolverines twice within the last week, but that with McDoom, Johnson, Crawford, Hawkins, Mitchell, Evans all in the fold at wide receiver that he is no longer a take for the staff.

Michigan was recruiting Young as an athlete, and may have even preferred him at cornerback, but with Lavert Hill looking more and more like a good bet to sign with the Wolverines on Wednesday, they will roll with what they have as far as the defensive back/wide receiver types.

You can't really blame Henderson and Stewart for choosing Stanford over Michigan. The kids just want a chance to win championships and it's just not going to happen at a place like Ann Arbor.
