We know why Speight didn't try any deep passes. Florida had a top 5 defense this year. We don't have time to break in a first time starter and deal with all of that. Maybe you do. Unless we can hand it off and gain 5 yards every single play. Can we?
We know why he didn't attempt any passes over 20 yards? Really? Why then? And don't say his shoulder because he hurt his NON throwing shoulder. Guess what else? Florida had a top 10 defense LAST year too. What happened in the Capital One bowl?
We know the refs fukked us. The refs from Ohio, the ref that's in the Ohio football HOF. That's out of our control now, aside from possible referee reform. We handed the ball to deveon smith and failed against MSU, Iowa & OSU. Great teams in big games run the clock out. We can fix that problem and we gotta place our thoughts towards that. What in the world has peters or O'Korn ever shown for you to besmirch Speight though? That Indiana game excited you?
No ones arguing that we need to run the ball better. I'm not sure why your panties are all knotted up. As for what has Peters or O'Korn showed me? O'Korn was plugged in to start against Indiana without even getting any snaps during the season. I put that on HARBAUGH. There's no reason he shouldn't have been in more games, with the blowouts that we were a part of. As for Peters, have you seen his film? Do you even know why kind of a QB he is? Do you know ANYTHING about him, other than his name? Peters is the total package. If Harbaugh played true freshman QB's, then Peters would've been our starter this year. Harbaugh even redshirted Andrew Luck, so don't come at me with the 'well, if he was good enough, he would've played' because no. It wasn't happening. Even if he was the best QB in spring, which was a rumor at some point.
whoever called for a play action from the endzone is the biggest culprit for the pick 6. Terrible offensive call. Yes smith missed the block but what about the other 10 he didn't miss. What about smith being the reason they won with that wack o korn at qb. You cannot say onwenu couldn't have been worse, that's a terrible statement.
I agree that the play action in the end zone was a bad call. As for 'what about the other 10 that he didn't miss' .. that's weak. Because I counted THREE huge missed blocks on his part, this game alone. Also, if you're in the game for 85% of the offensive snaps, you're obviously gonna convert on more blocks.
As for Onwenu, he played DAMN well in the beginning of the year. It's almost like Harbaugh burned a few redshirts for no reason at all, and he was one of them. Same with Sean McKeon. Same with David Long and Lavern Hill. And a few others. And I don't care what you say, Kyle Kalis is a fukking bum. Period.
Speights was cool under pressure and escaping it nicely as the season progressed, he was not soft and wilting under pressure. Y'all want perfection like this wasn't a first time starting college qb.
Michigan had control of that game refs or not. They were too conservative on offense.
Cool under pressure? I'll give you that. But here are some stats for the 6 biggest games from this year.
vs. Colorado: 16/30, 229 yards, 1 TD, 1 FUM (34.4 QBR)
vs. Penn State: 21/34, 189 yards, 1 TD (79.0 QBR)
vs. Wisconsin: 20/32, 219 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT (26.8 QBR)
at Michigan State: 16/25, 244 yards, 1 INT (76.1 QBR)
at Iowa: 11/26, 103 yards, 1 INT (10.5 QBR)
at Ohio State: 23/36, 219 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 1 FUM (21.4 QBR)
You think we're gonna win anything with play like that from our QB? Anything of substance I mean? Because I don't.
I love coach Harbaugh. I don't think there's a better man that can lead this program to where we all want it to be. I believe in him, and we'all get there eventually. But do me a favor. Don't be one of those fans that act like we don't know what the fukk we're talking about if we question his moves. I've played and coached football for over 20 years. I may not know it all, but I know my shyt.
