It feels like they peaked against Washington and the winning ugly gets old when it looks roughly the same as a month ago vs Wisconsin. I'm not saying specific players aren't progressing, there are very clear examples, but collectively I expect more given the lesser of competition.

I don’t love his clock management, which is an ongoing issue. An example from the game would be: on the last drive, he let the clock run down to 2 minutes when he could have called a timeout and given them roughly 3 minutes to work with. They needed Marsh to make an NFL-level reception on 3rd and 10 to keep that drive from stalling out. If he does anything less and they fail to convert on 4th down, they wouldn’t have time to get the ball back. If he calls timeout in that same scenario Michigan would have had a roughly a minute if they forced a 3 and out. It Marsh's catch doesn't retroactively mean managed the clock well.

Then there’s the 4th and 1 that Bryce botched earlier. Look, if you want to go for it, fine whatever, but running Kuzdzal up the middle is a questionable decision even without the bad hand-off. The lack of a QB sneak with a 6'4", 230 lb QB is an ongoing complaint of mine. Tom Brady ran QB sneak in the NFL routinely, but the more athletically gifted Bryce can’t? I’m not saying to do it every game—they certainly didn’t have to with Justice and Jordan healthy—but that game, and at that moment? That’s a sneak or put in some extra linemen and run QB power.

Lastly, his decision to rotate players on defense at the current rate is ridiculous. We know it’s not Martindale because they don’t do that in the NFL and since it’s the entire defense, we know it’s not a position coach. I understand needing to play guys so they don’t transfer, but there's a time and a place. In big games, the best players need be on the field for the majority of snaps. On critical downs, the best players need to be on the field. Cameron Brandt shouldn’t be getting a similar snap count as Derrick Moore or more than TJ Guy. Let’s also be honest: if Brandt isn’t passed by a younger player or recruited over via portal, then the DE is in a bad spot with him as a starter. Maybe he finally becomes credible pass rusher in his last season, but, based on what he’s shown, I wouldn't count on it. The situation where he transferred due to playing time wouldn’t be the end of the world, he’s a replacement-level player. I'm not saying I want him to transfer, just his playing time shouldn't come at the expense of the defense's ability on critical downs.

To be clear, I'm not saying he should be fired—I think he'll be given two more years with Bryce then evaluated—what I'm saying is I hope he reevaluates his own decision-making this off-season.

Also, sorry for the late response I thought I hit post reply a few days ago, but it was still saved as a draft.
