If you say so breh.Aoki and yamamoto are legends to some too but we saw how they fared in the USFour of them are legends, while Machida is well on his way to becoming a legend. Shogun and Wandy are two of the greatest LHWs ever (both are at least top 5 LHW all time). Big Nog is the second best HW of all time, Anderson is the GOAT and Machida is somewhere in the top 8 LHWs of all time. This is def. ain't earth shattering stuff tho

This is what i'm talking about. Shogun hurt his knees before he ever came to the UFC. He was a terrible knee surgery before his UFC debut. If you were watching back then you'd know he was told not to take the fight. This is pre insurance days and he needed money to pay his medical bills. Once he got to America, Dana had the top knee Dr. in the states check his knees. The Dr. said it was one of the worst operations he'd ever seen. The dr. had to open Shogun's knees just to repair the damage the first Dr did. After they let that heal he had to go back in and redo the whole surgery. This is all while Shogun tried to fight to earn money to pay for the surgery.
And Wand had been losing in Pride and was obviously on the way down before he even made it to the UFC. He had lost his Pride belt and been knocked out numerous times before he even made his UFC debut.
Not to mention they came into a whole different rule set and lost their use of stomps and soccer kicks.
On top of that Shogun won the title. Nog won the title. Rampage won the title. So they were doing okay.
