he better finish the fight then because the lay and pray aint gonna work with diaz, hes too skilled on his back

gsp will keep it standing where diaz really has no chance

He'll probably just balance it out pick him apart standing and take him down keep Diaz off balance. But GSP's good enough to not get submitted I really believe that.

Diaz getting the shot is legit to me. Condit was gonna grant Nick a rematch prior to his suspension anyway.

Besides Nick Diaz is awesome.

GSP doesn't lay and pray. You'd have to be an absolute moron if you believe so.

Nick Diaz is skilled on the ground [in terms of BJJ], but so is GSP. You have to take into consideration:
1) When was the last time Nick submitted somebody off his back?
2) When was the last time anybody submitted GSP period?
3) When was the last time Nick faced a good wrestler?

I don't even remember the last time any of those happened. Because of that, I'm not liking his odds at all.

A Diaz submission is possible, just unlikely.

As a fighter, I can't see how you can hate the dude. He puts on some of the best fights in MMA.

I still can't believe Nick stood toe to toe with Paul Daley and KO'd him. Not only did he get rocked badly, he was taunting Daley. :wow:

Nick just doesn't give a f#ck. :salute:

lol, there is a reason Strikeforce made sure Diaz faced no wrestlers in his time there. His supposedly 'great' guard game is just good and can be stifled by someone who knows what they're doing. He can be controlled and certainly will be by GSP.

Diaz has no chance standing? :what:

:lolbron:@ Dana always trying to blame anyone but himself

SF would have made this fight at 140- Dana has guaranteed Ronda that it will be at 135- its starting to backfire on him

During today's UFC on FOX 5 prefight press conference, UFC president Dana White crowned former Strikeforce bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, the first ever UFC woman's bantamweight champion.

In addition, White also revealed that her first title defense will come against Liz Carmouche and not Cristaine "Cyborg" Santos as many had speculated.

The news left many to wonder why Santos, the former Strikeforce featherweight champion, wasn't Rousey first title defense as had been heavily rumored. The match up was even confirmed on the UFC's official Brazilian website.

Well according to White, you can blame her manager, Tito Ortiz for that.

"That's the fight that should be happening," White said. "Tito Ortiz is her manager, and he advised against it."

Immediately, upon hearing that he was been blamed for the match not taking place, Ortiz, a UFC Hall-Of-Famer reach out to MMAJunkie.com with the following statement:

"That was never said! Cyborg' will fight her anytime, anywhere at 145. Cris said she would kill herself trying to make 135. I won't allow it, (and) neither should the UFC or Dana. Cris wants the fight, fans want the fight, and so does the UFC. If Ronda is such a great fighter, why doesn't she fight at the weight she started at? This is no different than (Anderson) Silva cutting to 170 to fight GSP. It's not healthy, period."

I thought it was said that cris is willing to drop to 135 just as long as shes given sufficient time

i dont know how much cyborg cuts to make 145 but you have to assume shes big girl and it takes her all she has to cut to 145

And 140- IIRC, she fought Shayna at 140lb catch weight

She walks around at 160-170

This isnt a big Deal and I agree with Tito.... this is all tactics- that fight will happen at 140lbs

If Ronda is such a great fighter, why doesn't she fight at the weight she started at? This is no different than (Anderson) Silva cutting to 170 to fight GSP. It's not healthy, period."

Ronda knows that Cyborg @ 135 is a drained powerless fighter who she can beat...she's scared that's all

If the 5lbs is not a big deal, why just not jump the weight. Ronda walking around is probably 145lbs right now

UFC is using the hell out of TMZ- I wonder how much they pay them

Cris 'Cyborg' Santos
Ronda Rousey's Too Scared to Fight Me

Ronda Rousey's too chicken to fight Cris 'Cyborg' Santos ... and that's why Cyborg won't be facing Rousey in Rousey's first ever UFC fight next February -- Cyborg's rep tells TMZ.

FYI -- Cyborg is widely regarded as one of the most dominant female MMA fighters on the planet ... famously beating up former "American Gladiators" star Gina Carano back in 2009.

According to the rep, "This is a fight all the fans want and we want to give to them. We have offered to fight Ronda at a catch weight of 140lbs. She has turned that offer down and will not budge to make this fight happen."

The rep adds, "Cyborg wants Rousey but can not and will not drop to 135 [Rousey's fighting weight]."

According to the rep, "We understand Ronda is worried about losing because of her new found fame. We are not worried about fame; we are worried about Cris' health."

The rep tells us, several doctors have said it would be unsafe for Cris (who fights at 145) to drop ten pounds for a bout.

TMZ broke the story ... Rousey will face off against Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 instead.

ronda has no chance at beating cyborg unless she somehow gets a arm bar on her

her standup is weak

gina is better then ronda

one fight dana should make is rematch between cyborg and gina, thats what the fans really want

Gina gets beaten again

Ronda is a one trick pony, until she comes to fight with more tools in her arsenal, all she is, is a Judo fighter on an MMA platform.

Lets just wait and see the numbers for the PPV in Feb.

Has Hendo commented on being demoted?
