lol, this shyt is laughable.

i don't hate ronda but i hope liz pulls the upset and knocks her the fuk out. the fact that dana is so biased and overlooking liz is disgusting.

im pretty sure cyborg can make 135 BUT, the most important thing dana forgets or completely ignore is the fact that she won't be the same fighter she was when she was at 145. i don't give a fuk what nutritionist he says can get her down to 135, she just won't be the same.

cyborg got options, im sure bellator would love to get her as well as invicta. i just want to see her back and back at 145.

That is the whole idea...she used to cut from 170 to 145

Dolce said he can get Cyborg down to 135 so she can beat Ronda...dana and Ronda were not happy when he said that...

If Liz pulls the upset watch WMMA get thrown in the bush and Dana starts a 100lb division

Dana honestly might be the reason UFC might never reach the next level of mainstream exposure. Dude is just too biased and Stans like a motherfukker for certain people

Pretty much...watch how he turns on Ronda when the 157 card doesn't draw

Dana has no filter and is really bad for MMA

Maybe I am missing something but was he supposed to do?
exactly its like ppl have become so use to habit of blaming due to his persona/rep that now they can't even see clearly :heh:

Yeah he's made some suspect decisions to the detriment of the sport involving (gsp, forrest griffin & sonnen in particular) but he's smelling of roses here. He has a potential cash cow on his hands is he suppose to set up a "meaningless" catchweight fight to derail all that before he can value her worth. No means no, if cyborg legitimately can't get to 135 and the ufc don't plan on having a 145 div right now then they have reached an impasse and have no business to discuss.

They even offered to hold on to her have her fight at invicta with the hope ronda moves up after shes done with 135 (ie once she beats carmouche/mcmann) but santos said no.. Which indicates to me either santos cant compete at all without the juice (and will retire) or this is about money and tito is being tito..Due explain to me where dana and his bullheadedness is at play here

The Last of the Outlaws
Anderson Silva Would Move to Welterweight to Challenge Georges St-Pierre | 5thRound.com

I'm a GSP fan but its pretty funny how Anderson is basically his boogeyman at this point. GSP has done everything but flat out say :whoa:  to fighting him.

I've long given up on the idea of that fight. But 170 is Georges best shot at what would be a 38 year old by then Anderson who hasn't been there since 06 I believe.

I just want Anderson to shut up the influx of Weidman fans

As a condition of her suspension, she got tested randomly just like Overeem and was clean. I honestly believe that it was a one off deal to cut weight. Why is Dana is now talking about potentially making the fight at 140?so whether now or later, what is the difference? he wants to make sure Ronda's investment pays off first before he feeds her to Cyborg, everyone can see it.

Dana is talking real greasy about Cris on twitter, about her being busted for steroids but if she did cut to 135 and did what UFC wanted, would he be talking mess? Dude is really bad for the business...he needs to be humbled. I am glad Cris and Tito stood their ground and saw the bigger picture. She doesn't need UFC and the fact that Dana can't stop talking about her is evident that they really need her. I really hope Liz pulls the upset next week.

Funny...Someone on the UG posted this quote From Ronda..

I don't think I'd have to do a catchweight fight (against 135-pound champion Tate). I've been walking around five pounds over 145 for the past couple of weeks, eating whatever I want. So after this fight, I'm thinking of winning the 135-pound belt first and then going up and taking the 145-pound belt, and then, if we have the two divisions unified, we can probably push everyone into one division and we can have the depth that Dana says we don't have. We could push for having women's MMA in the UFC

I didnt know she fought since her suspension, oh yeah thats right she hasnt.Pretty easy to be clean when u are i dont know out of competition

where did he say that cuz in the most recent media scrum in london he said its either at 135 now or she stays signed, goes to invicta and waits for ronda to move up.Which will most likely never happen cuz ronda ran from 145 in the 1st place & all parties know it.

Dana aint interested in a catchweight at this point stop making shyt up

In my mind the time for Silva/GSP has passed, at this point I'd rather see GSP fight the contenders already at welterweight (Hendricks/Maia)

What are you talking about, making stuff up? From post 4497-please see the bold... Like I said, they know there is a chance that Cyborg gives Ronda the Gina treatment them the WMMA division is messed up. Dana wants to make money off of Ronda before feeding her to Cyborg. The only reason this fight is not happening is because a ronda doesn't want it

THEUltimate Fighting Championship has severed ties with Cris “Cyborg” Santos.

UFC president Dana White confirmed Santos’ release when talking with the media following the UFC on Fuel TV 7 pre-fight press conference on Wednesday.

Asked if Santos is done with the company, White responded, “Yeah.”

“I’m telling you right now, she wants nothing to do with this fight with Ronda (Rousey),” he immediately continued. “This is the biggest show in the world. We’re working with her to get her a deal or whatever. When you send a letter from your lawyer and your doctor saying I will die if I try to make 135 (pounds), it’s just the goofiest thing. I’ve never seen anything like it in the fight business.

“Okay, so you don’t want to make 135, but you want to talk about fighting Ronda. First of all, you tested positive for steroids and got stripped of your title. And you’re trying to talk about how Ronda doesn’t want to fight you, but she’s the champion at 135. If Ronda goes and does the fight at 140 and does the fight at 140, it’s not even for a title. The fight just makes no sense.”

The UFC tried to get Santos fights outside of the organization because there is no 145-pound women’s division in the UFC. They proposed getting her fights in Invicta FC, but Santos didn’t like the idea.

“So what happens is, so we’ll figure something out where Cyborg gets some fights. Ronda defends her title a few times. Then maybe Ronda moves up to whatever and fights… they want nothing to do with that, wants nothing to do with it. It’s wacky beyond wackiness,” stated White.

“There is no 145-pound women’s division. She’s under contract with us, so we’d get her some fights somewhere else. We get her some fights. Let’s play this 135-pound thing out and see what happens, see where this thing goes. No.”

Women’s fighting in the UFC centers around the 135-pound division, a division Santos can’t or is unwilling to make. So women fighting in the UFC moves on without Santos.

“This women’s thing is coming together. When I talk to Joe (Silva) and Sean Shelby, we have 10 of the best 135-pounders in the world. We’re gonna do this division. We’re going to see how this fight goes down or whatever,” said White.

“Cyborg is pretty much irrelevant right now. She really is. She’s irrelevant. Go out there and win some fights again, get your name back, stay clean, stay off some steroids and get your career back on track and then we’ll talk. But for her to think that everybody should move around and jump through hoops for her is insane.”
UFC Done with Cris "Cyborg" Santos | MMAWeekly.com

Cris opened her gym in Brazil, I doubt she is retiring, she is a great fighter and will probably be picked up by Invicta or Bellator

thats what all the white boys want but there is no story there.Ufc have tried to make out gsp isnt that far behind silva in accomplishments for years. They've put him on p4p lists irrespective of his cowardice to move weight or finiish fights. They've gushed over his title reign despite his loss to serra and extended inactivity between fights. But by hook or crook hes basicaslly part of the old guard and has miles. So their fight has intrigue cuz while silva has the size, gsp has wrestling and just enough youth.Pitting anderson/jones is just silly cuz jones has wrestling, size and youth. And his dominance is only a year and change old.Jones has already lost in the ufc :pachaha: so has nothing to lose

why dont you actually view the vid on ufc.com cuz u obviously cant trust your eyes. What u put in bold is a summary of what i already said.If cyborg cant make 135 they want to hold on to her get her fights at invicta and then over time ronda will move up to face her.But everyone knows that is a wasted excercie cuz ronda has her running shows on. so again how is dana at fault here?:what:

His box riding is beyond ridiculous, the talking greasy because he didn't get his own way. Dude is so bad for the sport :birdman:

There is no guarantee that Ronda will fight Cris so IMO that deal they were making is BS...the only thing is Cris may have got more money but the fights would never have been on a UFC platform so what is the point?

This could have been settled by an all female TUF but Ronda doesn't want it. She better win all the fights on her deal and give Dana his money's worth or Dana will turn on her.

Just got back from Bellator 89 tonight. The card was great from the jump.

Rogers/Cramer was a hell of a back and forth fight, and seemed to have the most crowd participation as well. Arena was about half for Rogers, half for Cramer. The fight was truly a pick-em fight, but no way either guy won 30-27.

The title fight was great for the round and a half it lasted. Really was sad to see the shots of Galvao's wife as her husband was getting starched though.

Marshall and Spang were in there banging too, until Spang got caught. I agree with those who said Spang and Rogers should fight again.

Overall, a decent crowd considering the card was announced pretty late, and no huge names as well. I hope we repped enough for Bellator to keep the Charlotte area in their rotation of arenas.
