Hopefully Ellenberger shows up against Marquardt. If he wins impressively, and Hendricks loses (which is possible) then he might just get the next shot unless the UFC wants to pull the trigger on Maia/GSP.

Fitch is a good fighter but hes pretty boring. Not sure if she should be fired bu the ufc has to make room for the new strikeforce fighters.

Fitch may be boring, but he is just one fight removed from the great bout with Erik Silva. You can easily argue that up until recently he has been the 2nd best WW in the UFC for a number of years. His only losses have been to Mai, GSP, and Hendricks. 2 of those being very recent.

The other fighters are not really a surprise.

The end of the UFC monopoly :blessed:

The UFC is not like it once was, revenue and popularity is waning, and they can't afford to hoard all these fighters anymore :russ:

Dana's had it out for Fitch for a while now, so it shouldn't come as a surprise. His release is still bullsh*t though because he's easily top 10 in the UFC, and is still a tough fight for many of their top WWs.

Clay-n-Pray Guida is probably next after Mendes disposes of him.

...and somehow Leonard Garcia is still in the UFC.

Add Kyle Kingsbury and Manny Gamburyan to that list

I'm convinced that Manny is a buy one get one free deal with Ronda

I wonder if Clay Guida has been put on notice?

Damn...

From Ulysses Gomez's twitter:

@arielhelwani I got released?!?!? What! Serious?

Fitch might not be the most exciting fighter to watch, but in no way did he deserved to get cut. Not only is he a top talent, he's a tough fight for anyone in the division. Fitch easily beat one of the UFC's top up and coming fighters [E. Silva].

Half the listed fighters should've been given one more chance.
