So you the lightweight champ doesnt count as a main draw for fans,
:what: Have u read my post?
Anderson Silva arguably the num1 p4p doesnt count as a main draw.
please brush up on your reading comprehesion, it would help
But Diaz who puts up good ppv buys and isn't a good draw.
He put up one solid number and that was through dubious means on zuffa's part..The one card he headlined against a faded star bombed..Lets see what numbers he does after gsp rapes him..Wonder what your excuse will be then
What sense do you make, a good draw is sum1 who draws good ppv's period. fullstop. No excuses, of what city, country the fight is in, no excuses of who's hurt or on or off the card, good draw means, u put them as a main event on a card, n that card will have solid sales.
Which 137 didnt :heh:
When Bj penn was the lightweight champ is was drawing big numbers, no y? cuz hes a big draw, so dont discount lightweights as being big draws, jus cuz their lightweights. Big draws r big draws. Stop fighting it, numbers dont lie.
Thats not the argument but you've brought me to my next point since penn left the lw division its been devoid of a true draw..

yup i read your post, u stated that condit/diaz had a good gate cous most fans bought tix expecting GSP. but that doesnt excuse the good ppv #'s. Fans bought da ppv that night or day before, based on diaz vs condit. Dude drew a good number 400k, why u hatin for bro? He out drew alot of other top talent, there's nothing dubious about it. Fans wanted to see the fight, they paid the money for the PPV. 400k in buys, is 400k in buys, plain n simple a good number.

considering the hoopla following nick and his shady wining streak his fans laud over u think ufc were projecting 625k buys for his first 2 cards? :heh:

I dont have a horse in the race why would i care enough to "hate".Get outta of that little boy mentality i am just stating facts.Him out drawing "a lot of top talent" isnt a hard feat to achieve in todays ufc.Because the only legit draw they have managed to build that wasnt pre tuf/in tuf/pride is jones..Who is a shaky draw at best

If it isn't such a hard feat then every ppv should be doin 400k in numbers. But they aren't. He's a good draw, period. No matter the excuses of why ppl wanna see him, no matter what hype is surrounding the fight, he still drew good respectable numbers. Thats the whole point of bein a good draw.

The Bones Jones #'s since he's been champ if ne1 was wondering:

UFC 128 490k - vs Rua
UFC 135 520k - vs Rampage
UFC 140 485k - vs Machida
UFC 145 700k - vs Rashad
UFC 152 450k - vs Vitor

I'm sure after this stint on Ultimate Fighter, Dana would like to see Jones stay above the 700k area in ppv buys.

Early reports on the Rousey Card, is over 500k in ppv buys. Pretty good for 1st womens fight in UFC. Lets see if she can build off that. if Gina Carano or Cyborg ever did come back, I'm sure those numbers wld be thru the roof.

because the ufc haven't managed to make a star that wasn't pre tuf/in tuf or pride but jones.or did you fail to comprehend that :rudy:

how can u base that off of one ppv tho :why: or are u going to say 225k was a good number too.We are going round in cirlces here, it seems u are steadfast in your thinkin which I I think is premature. He's bombed and he's pulled out a meager figure. What his number is like after gsp exposes him will prove my point,if zuffa keep him at all cuz let's face it he was only brought in to play patsy to gsp, stay tuned.

thx 4 saving me the trouble, here is a guy that is meant to be a walking attraction, the new phenom if u will and his most publicised fight which was hyped to the gills cud only scratch 700k? That's a good # by todays ufc standards but a dissappointment in the grand scheme. Given his status the fact that he averages below 500k is quite surprising

Ur welcome, I was already on the page, so figured might as well post em for every1 to see. Alot of ppl thought having Bones jones on Ultimate fighter was to help boost the ratings of the show, but really it was to get Bones more exposure so that they can boost his ppv #'s. When compared to GSP, those #'s are horrible. and we won't even talk about Brock. I'm sure Dana would give Brock 10m up front just to come back for a couple shows. Vince McMahon is luving life.

Not so sure about 10mill cuz he was losing value and cudnt stay healthy. But they would take him back with open arms.Disagree with the last comment tho cuz his return didn't spike ratings or help buyrates

Dayum, WWE doin dat bad, had no clue. I know Brock was doin sum krazy #'s at one point in UFC 5 of his last 6 ppv's did over a 1 milly in ppv's each. I think the last one with Reem was between 700-800.

so if price was $50, ruff estimate is over 50 milly in ppv. Of course thats not the pricing or profits and expenses, and bar/restaurant rates are diff and etc. But I can't imagine if Fedor in his prime actually came to ufc and fought brock what that cards #'s would do.

A. Silva's contract isn't signed yet but it's gonna be 8 - 10 fights and Dana wants him to fight Weidman.

Moraga and Mighty Mouse has been cancelled altogether and they're looking for a new main event for TUF Finale.

I'm DVR'ing Bellator...I think Veigh takes Mpumbu...at least I hope he does...Mpumbu hasn't fought in Bellator in ages and I'm pretty sure he's their only champion that lost 1 of his non-title fights...even though I felt like Galvao did enough to get the decision against warren. Mpumbu should be fighting at middleweight anyway.

How do you all watch the events?

Usually I get together with a bunch of friends and split the PPV. Recently though, I've been heading to the bar to watch it.

Really depends on the card, when its a stacked top to bottom card, me n a group of friends usually order it at my boys condo, he got a sweet 80' his place is like a huge mancave.

Regular ppv's or good fight nites, usually head to a couple big bars here in Toronto. Bars b acting like its the superbowl for sum of these ppv's good vibe.

Any Toronto or Montreal cards i see in person.
