No, I've said this already- in the press conference Tito's partner said UFC wanted to offer Cris 8 fights at 135, she said no because of the weight, then they negotiated where Cris will have some warm up fights (3 max) at 135 to adjust to the weight cut then fight Rousey then UFC and Rousey said no. Tito was looking at the long term and UFC was looking short term, besides in that 135 deal, there were no guarantees that she would fight Rousey
the whole thing sounds a bit sketchy cuz i vividly remember when zuffa reached an impasse with cyborg they still offered to have her terrorize the "145" div in invicta on their dime with the hope once she built her name and rep shed drop to 135

But its whatever

But he never tried to stop him when things started going left either? He apologized for it on his show today

His apology was half assed and more a "Im sorry if uou got mad", he is the TMZ of mma and rumor has he is going to be full time under the Zuffa banner as MMAFighting has been phasing him out of onsite interviews

Not surprised, he did say the UFC helped him get some of the interviews recently

Which is funny because Dana said after the whole Fallon fall out, he didn't know why fighters do interviews when they do not have fights to promote.

well that also makes sense , because any fighter they are pushing or is in demand, Zuffa is putting in place a policy were they choose what media is worthy of interviews. Basically Zuffa is controlling the image of their promotion by only letting a select few in

Also anyone find it funny that Ariel is being credentialed through Fuel TV, which is basically being run by the UFC. He [Ariel] is always the first member of the media to scapegoat for the UFC and cheer lead when a bad call is made

not really, ariel had a gig with versus when they had ufc. It is not a surprise that ppl who run fuel (which is FOX not ufc) would scoup him. Karyn bryant got ties to fuel tv too and she aint exactly a zuffa loyal :ld:

Ps I did mention years ago that the bigger ariel got the more his objectiviy as a legit mma journo got compromised. It started with the mma hour then his exclusives with dana. And it was puntuated with his fuel tv roles

Am I the only one starting to think Mir has a chance?

He's training with, arguably, the best camp in the sport...there haven't been too many guys who didn't get better once they went there. When Frank was saying he was really training hard for the first time, it sounded like bullshyt but it kinda got me hyped up...I dunno...

I just feel :blessed: about this card...a bonafied ppv caliber card...on FOX......:to: I love it.

Then right after that Canelo and Trout :shaq:

Anyone who can finish Nog twice has a chance. Of course he has to submit him but like JDS, I don't see him taking Cormier down. Mir is too slow and :flabbynsick: standing. Plus, I don't care how many times Mir says he's in shape and ready for this fight, he's cardio still sucks. He will be mouth breathing by round two. Out of all the fights on the main card, this is the sure bet

Who do you guys have in Diaz VS Thomson?

Should be a close, back and forth battle. I see Nate coming out on top, but Thomson def. has the tools to pull off the W.

Am I the only one starting to think Mir has a chance?

When I was watching Road to the octagon, I got the same feeling. Then I started thinking and I just don't see how Mir pulls it off. His best bet is to land that big shot, which I don't see happening at all. Mir's ground game will be negated by Cormier's wrestling. All of Mir's loses have come via KO, so a Cormier finish is the likely outcome. Finally, Cormier has a lot riding on this fight [a possible shot at the LHW strap], so I think he will come into this fight has the more hungry and ready fighter.

the only reason to think mir has a chance is cuz cormier looked real shytty in his last outing. If that was down to playing safe because a ufc career beckoned :manny: but it just seemed he shat the bed.So what's he goin to be like in his first ufc fight? And another thing we don't know if his shytty performance had anything to do with being careful with the hand he broke on barnett's face. For all we know the killer that mauled bigfoot/barnett might not be there post surgery

I just feel :blessed: about this card...a bonafied ppv caliber card...on FOX......:to: I love it.
and we haven't had any dropouts due to injuries but then again everything on that subject is tight-lipped till after the event :mjpls:

I'm more excited for this card than the next PPV. Even the undercard is looking solid, Mendes/Elkins, Carmont/Larkin, Joe B/Uyenoyama, Masvidal/Means and Njokauni(sp?)/Bowling

I really like Thomson in this fight - both guys are tough, but one seems to be able to control where the fight takes place and throws kicks and that person is Thomson.

Agreed Masivadal is that dude and I helped out with Uyenoyama as much as my wack ass could.

I'm worried on DC's behalf.
He could fukk around and get smoked, Frank is a lot bigger than him
