if i'm remembering correctly, cormier had some kidney problems in the past...so cutting a lot of weight (to 205) could seriously fukk him up. that's gotta be a big factor in his decision.

dc vs big country sounds pretty good. there was talk about roy vs. hunt too, which would be awesome.

so why did he say it was an option going into his last strikeforce fight? did he suddenly have amnesia?

how the fukk should i know? maybe he's sly and he's trying to leave some mystery for the fans/promoters. maybe he legit wants to keep his options open. i don't know.

what i do know is that weight cuts are very taxing, especially on the kidneys, so if a dude has/had kidney problems, it's only fair to assume that would make him pretty weary about doing it.

08 olympics he was named team capt but couldnt compete due to kidney failure. But then again, Cormier competed almost his entire amatuer wrestling career at 211lb weight class. So i'm sure he can handle a weight cut from 211 to 205 no problem.

he's not 211 anymore, though.

trust, i would love to see him at 205 but for one, i don't think he really wants to go there and two, i'm not sure if he even could in a healthy manner at this point.

forgetting cormier, overall, i think the whole weight-cut thing is getting kind of crazy. there's a lot of guys that are sucking themselves dry (no homo) to make weight when they could EASILY compete at a higher weight class.

What i been sayin, he dont really wanna go down. he jus tryin 2 mk sum nice money while he still can b4 retirement. He tryin 2 do da formula of take as least fights as he can, get da most money, win as much as possible and take the least amt of damage. he dont care about puttin on a show for da fans or none of that. And he's been training all his life, so goin to a gym every day, and the jive talkin and atmosphere of training wit friends is amusing to him, so he values his teammates more than sum other fighters (faber)

Despite suffering a devastating loss to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at this past weekend's UFC 159 event, Chael Sonnen will continue his fighting career – and he'll do it at 205 pounds.

Sonnen revealed his plans on Tuesday's new edition of "UFC Tonight" while simultaneously calling out MMA legend Wanderlei Silva.

Wonder if they feel comfortable having Chael fight in Brazil, would be a solid co-main event for the Aldo/Pettis card

Why do braziliams hate wandy and Vitor so much?

Since when do Brazilians hate Wand, he's one of the most popular/beloved MMA fighters in Brazil.

Based on what I've heard, Vitor is hated because of his former 'badboy/playboy' image (this coming from actual Brazilians from Sherdog). Although he's hated, Vitor is easily the second most popular fighter in Brazil (he was part of a famous Brazilian reality show).

I've also heard that Anderson is the second most popular athlete in Brazil, which is pretty crazy.
