So guys are held to different standards based on how ownership views them. It is what it is, all I'm saying is you can't expect to be seen as having the same legitimacy as the other major sports leagues when you operate this way.
Yes, its a business, every1 in the company is held to different standards. You may get fired even though you came in on time and busted your ass, while the CEO's son will get a token promotion. Its an entertainment business that makes revenue based on ppv buys, and tv ratings/views. Not by how skilled, or years served a fighter has. I know it sux, I know its not fair, but since when is business every fair.
The funny part about your statement is UFC having to be held or seen as legitimate as other sports, what are sports seem legitimate to you? NCAA dont even pay their athletes and make billions off em. They get suspended and kicked outta skool for just signing an autograph for $5 bucs, lol.
Boxing the biggest ppv sport, and the word legitimate don't even belong in the same sentence. How about Baseball, Arod making more than whole franchises are worth and the whole time on Steriods. How about biking, The entire top 12 of the tour de france during the lance armstrong era were doping, hence why they won't even rename a new winner after they stripped lance. I know we aren't counting NFL as legitimate, Lawrence Taylor smoking crack during halftime of a super bowl. Last years superbowl the lights went out, no power, but the concourse power was still on selling beer. And the extra tv commercials were already loaded and ready.
UFC is trying to be just as rich and corrupt as the others, and thus far they are doing a great job of it. Good job, Joe Silva, Dana, Lorenzo, Coker and every1 else in them offices.
