In the eyes of some yes but what is beating Sonnen gonna do for him? He wins he beat a blown up MW, he loses his marketability goes to shyt at a time when UFC needs new stars. Not taking this fight hurt his popularity a lot.

He loses it was a fluke. Turning down the fight was the worst case scenario.

"Ehh..it was marginally worse to me. I think he wouldve gotten shyt either way. Dude literally cant do anything right.
He demolishes an opponent "He should be fighting at Heavyweight!"
Turns down the fight "Oh hes a p*ssy"
He beats Sonnen "Sonnen only had 8 days to prep, he struggled anyway"
Exactly just cause he and Silva dominate their weight class doesn't mean they should move up. I actually respect Jones more for standing his ground he's fought everybody they've put in front of him without complaint. He hasn't even had much time between fights. He loses it was a fluke. To all those saying he gains nothing from this fight, what about the $$$$? Isn't that all that matters?
Every fight with Bones is designed to be a mismatch. Chael is a cheater, a loser and whatever else but he's a real fighter. Back when Phil Davis pulled out of a fight against Rashad Evans, the UFC was having trouble finding a replacement. Chael called the UFC and offered to take the fight for no reason other than to do the company a favor.
I don't see what the gains are in Jones turning this fight down either. I know they say he'll be fighting on 9/22 but I doubt that too. It'll be tough to get into Canada with his recent arrest.

Dude fought what 3 times this year? Thats crazy. I'm sick of people saying he should move up...dude is very thin. So what if hes 6'4? Theyre called weight classes for a reason
So him being a "real" fighter whatever that means credits him to fight jones? Or is he just trying to piggy bank of all these big names? Dude you're not even making any sense. How is it a favor when it's a championship fight.
WHO WOULD TURN THAT DOWN!
It's likely many others would turn it down. Machida did. It's a fight on 8 days notice against Jon Jones. Fighters were not lining up.
what i dont get is why greg jackson was so shook of sonnen
are you tellin me Sonnen > Henderson
