Is Dana a closet homo? He won't add a women's division or even have one off superfights. But he will continue to create these small weight classes when all evidence shows interest in anything below WW is non exIstent(the gate for 150 showcases that) Has he even been seen with a bytch? What's his problem with women?

Rashad has recently stated that he is 50/50 on going down to MW.

Also, Anderson is not fighting for the remainder of 2012, so Rashad/A Silva is highly unlikely.

The UFC needs to throw boatloads of money at Anderson Silva and Jon Jones so that we can get that match-up. That fight is by FAR the most intriguing/best fight that can be put together. Unfortunately, I doubt we ever see this match up, Anderson is supposedly 'good friends' with Jones. :comeon: I'd be willing to pay over $100 for that fight alone.

Lack of super fights are usually because of unwillingness shown by fighters, not Dana. I can guarantee you that Dana would love to make super fights like Jones/Silva, GSP/Silva, or even Edgar/Aldo. A Silva has said numerous times that he wants no part of Jones (Jones has said the same recently as well), and GSP has had similar sentiments regarding a super fight with Anderson. Only recently has GSP entertained the idea of fighting A Silva.

I don't know how anyone can call themselves a fan of MMA and not show interest in divisions below WW. The lightweight division is probably the most exciting/intriguing division in the UFC right now. The HW division is very thin, the WW, LHW, and MW divisions have dominant champs that are not going to lose anytime soon. In the LW division, anything can happen and the division is stacked/deep as hell.

Finally, the flyweight division hasn't produced one bad fight [it has produced KOs, submissions and has had one of the best fights of the year]. Not the biggest fan of the division, but I can acknowledge that the little dudes come to fight.

Dana is married with kids but he keeps them out of the limelight

I agree, why add 125 when he could have added 135 female
I think the casual MMA fan is not interested in WMMA which is a shame because there are some really good female fighters - Dana is promoting the hell out of Ronda so i assume he is leaning towards the idea of women in the octagon

In an interview kicking off a series of shows about the Strikeforce bombshell on Showtime channel, White spares no praise: “She’s got everything you need as a fighter. And what’s more, she’s a woman and she’s beautiful. The Ronda Rousey set is different from anything else I’ve seen. I’m never going to miss a fight with Ronda Rousey. I’m a Ronda Rousey fan.”

At another point in the show, White, though stopping short at offering a prediction as to when he’ll be promoting female fights, didn’t completely deny the possibility. “In the next ten years, if there’s a woman in the UFC octagon, it’ll probably be Ronda Rousey. We’ve had excellent female fighters before Ronda Rousey. Gina Carano is beautiful. Cris Cyborg is unbelievably talented; she beats people up. But what changed my and I think changed a lot of people’s thinking about female MMA was Tate vs. Rousey. That was like a fight between two men. Two unbelievably talented women who are really well rounded, and the fact that they’re pretty doesn’t hurt either.”

I want to see if he feels this way about WMMA if Sarah beats Ronda or Cyborg beats Ronda...he is looking at it from a marketing perspective..I like the fights put on by Invicta FC and i can see Dana/Zuffa buying them out when they get really popular and keeping them as a separate entity

Right now Ronda is a one trick pony, albeit a good trick but we wont know how well rounded she is until she faces Kaufman or Cyborg

^^^This part of his comment is interesting to me because Gina vs Cyborg was a much better fight to watch

Yeah but Cyborg is . Tate and Rousey are better on the eyes as a collective.

It really doesn't make sense for Dana to invest Zuffa resources into developing a women's division(s) at this point. I don't blame him at all.

That is why i said he is looking at this from a marketing perspective and if that's the case, he needs to put a muzzle on Ronda because the more she talks, she is putting people off with her nasty attitude and constant put down of other athletes and celebs

Ronda is a big 135, she easily walks around at 145...when she was in that division she dropped weight to duck Cyborg

Me personally, i want to see women who can fight, how they look doesn't really matter however, I dont think Cyborg is unattractive...she is actually very sweet and most people who have interviewed her say she is very humble and shy

here she is

I was talking about women one time superfights. But you make an interesting point. I think with the lower weight classes it's two things. A lot of those guys haven't caught on with the average fan. Edgar and Cruz, while good fighters, are predictable as hell. They are guys who will pepper you into a decision. Plus they are borIng as hell personalIty wIse. A lot of fans hate that. Aldo is not only unmarketable but fights in a division where u couldn't really name two other fighters off hand. Faber is quickly becoming Florian pt 2 with his choking in big fights. Another reason is the perception. I remember watching Cruz/Faber at a bar and this guy next to me was like who the fukk are these midgets? A lot of ppl don't believe in the small guys. I know it's stupid but it's true. Me personally, the smaller weight classes have better quality fights instead of two hacks getting gassed midway through rd 2 from imitating rock and sock emulator robots. But say what you want about the bigger classes, they still have names. Silva, Jones, Velasquez, JDS all will sell not just because of their names but the fact that they will more than likely finish a fight

Dana is a business man, do u really think he added those weight classes because little guys supposedly always come to scrap & have cardio for days? No they brought in those lighter guys because they were going to embark on a ridiculous schedule and didnt have the talent to match it. If there were a big market for female mma best believe dana would be on it & watering down his product all the more.

But judging by his comments hes coming at female mma more like a chauvinist rather than a homo.I get the sense hes like fighting is brutal and bloody = no place for a woman..Funny that u would call his anti-WMMA stance gay tho, fans like u are the reason most pundits think female mma have no legs. You clearly are only interested in hot girls and the titillation aspect not who the best mma-ist is
LOL- why you dont like Tara? her and Miesha are always going at it on twitter...yet she doesnt say anything to Ronda or Cris Cyborg
when female mma was at its most popular coker extended his arm to get her to come to SF numerous times and she declined. For no real good reason other than she didnt want to get Got

The funny thing is shannon knapp was an ex-ufc/strikeforce employee & friends with dana.If female mma is still thriving in 3+ years & invicta is around there isnt anything stopping him from buying invicta with her doin all the heavy lifting
