Gotta rewatch the round, but I remember Nate having some success with the jab but Conor landing a series of power punches. I remember at least two clean uppercuts and a handful of straights just off top. I thought he owned that round, will rewatch though because it was at a bar and harder to focus.

:russ:I was wondering if a corner has ever talked shyt to an opposing fighter.
Bruh I gotta see that if available. Imagine the shyt talk that corners may have on deck for Jones vs Cormier :ohhh:

Not really sure why every1 is over analyzing this 1st round. Connor hit Nate hard and often and landed almost anything he threw. The problem was simply, Connor's power didn't translate at 170 and Nate basically ate them punches and walked threw them and stuck throwing out his 2 piece. The rest is mma 101, punch your self out, get caught, go for take down to attempt and recover, get reversed and tapped out. Nothing new, nice win Nate.

That's the whole point, not every fighter does the thing Connor does to deserve the push. U want a push make weight, u want the push showbiz to media events, he'll even do extra media events. 2ant push don't get popped for roids or weed.
U want the push, have exciting fights either finish the guy or u get finish don't lay and pray.

See every fighter bytches n whines after they win a big fight for the push or say why not me dana I deserve but then they aren't willing to do the work or do the things u needa do to deserve the push. I don't hate Connor nor do I like em but I respect him. He shows up, does extra media, really puts on for da fans and makes the fight exciting. Isn't that what it's all about. I'm not sitting here thinkin man I miss watching Jake shields in the ring or man I miss seeing Jon Fitch in the ufc.

Or how about fans paying to see Rumble Johnson Hut yet he misses weight when he was at 170, do I as a fan get my ticket price reduced cous there's 1 less fight?

There is no rhyme or reason to how the UFC pushes their fighters. They're about the kool-aid and the money. If they want to build up Nate Diaz, they certainly can. Dana just forgives all past fukk ups. "Nate isn't the most professional, but he is the real deal. He's always had p4p potential, and I think he's finally put it all together. He's got the most finishes in Zuffa UFC history! Like he said, its kill or be killed. I think he's about to go on a kill streak. Bottom line, he'll give 110% in the cage. I guarantee fans get their moneys worth!" And even if Diaz fukks up, Dana just does his damage control like he always does anyway.

Voila, all a sudden Diaz is the face of the UFC. Imperfect p4p badazz that does whatever he wants. What goes from here is up to Diaz. He keeps putting on good fights, the people will keep drinking the kool-aid.

And Diaz main events are mostly if not all FS1. But he just main evented a PPV and derailed the McGregor train. Perfect time to convert Diaz into a PPV star.

Hopefully Diaz can get another big fight next. I'll lowkey be disappointed that he gets an instant title shot at 170 or 155 (like Connor might have), but only because the shyt don't make any sense. Beat McGregor and get a shot at 155/170. Huh? But that's the point, the UFC just be doing unwarranted shyt like that all the time. I don't agree with it, but If Diaz wants a piece of that action at the height of his popularity, then he should get it.

Dada 5000 released from hospital following Kimbo Slice bout

Nearly two weeks after his Bellator debut against Kimbo Slice, Dada 5000 has been released from the hospital.

The news comes from a representative of Dada 5000's camp, who posted an update Wednesday on the heavyweight's Facebook page.

"Dada 5000 has been released from the Hospital and is now back home in South Florida," the message stated. "He wants all his supporters to know he appreciates them and is nothing without them. He will soon be available to tell his story."

Dada 5000, aka Dhafir Harris, suffered cardiac arrest in the aftermath of his Feb. 19 bout against Slice at Bellator 149 in Houston, Texas. Harris also suffered a broken orbital bone in the contest, which he lost via third-round TKO, as well as "severe dehydration, fatigue and renal failure" after attempting to cut nearly 40 pounds over the span of a few months, according to a family statement.

Billy Corben, the director of the Dawg Fight documentary which spotlighted Harris and the backyard fighting scene in Miami, recently said Harris "absolutely" almost died from health complications during and after the bout, until making a "miraculous" recovery.

"As it turns out, he was dying," Corben told Miami's Zaslow Show. "His body was shutting down during that fight, having nothing whatsoever to do with his fight training, but with his nutrition and dietary issues.

"Even as his body was completely betraying him and shutting down, Dada's fists never stopped trying to move toward Kimbo Slice. It was pretty remarkable, knowing what we know now what happened Friday night and the amount of heart and perseverance and not giving up that Dada displayed was nothing short of miraculous."

Bellator 149 took place at the Toyota Center and aired lived on Spike TV. The broadcast peaked at 2.7 million viewers during the grudge match between Slice and Harris (2-1), a fight which ultimately marked Harris' fight professional loss in MMA.

Most def agree with this.

After I saw the fight a 2nd time I still gave the round to Conor but it was much closer than it felt watching it live at the bar.

The 2nd round was pretty even too but Nate did better work. Even before the 1-2 that rocked McG he was catching him with some stiff ass jabs that stopped Conor in his tracks.

SN: all this "2 weight class" talk has to end about McG. RDA is right, he fought a 155er. There was no physical advantage other than height and reach
all thoe are excuses are from Mcgregor fans online who cant take the L

Conor was smashing in the first, look at his face
Conor jumped to weight classes, he choosed 170 lol. And nate fights at 155

A lot of excuses are being made for Conor on all the MMA podcast I listen to :mjlol: Why is it so hard for people to admit they hyped him up too much? Let's see him defend before putting him up there with the greats.
Rogan had Eddie Bravo on his podcast and it's the same shyt. They give excuses why he lost and give Nate credit while at the same time downplaying the win.
