Pettis cannot beat Aldo. He got worked by Guida. Hes good but people dont understand the level that Aldo is on. Aldo will beat Pettis and Bendo.

If by worked, you mean held down for 3 rds and generating more offense on bottom than Guida did on top sure.

Styles make fights and both of them have incredible striking, I do give the edge in cardio to Pettis. I could see the fight going either way, but it wouldn't shock me in the least if Pettis walks away champ.

Bellator tonight kicks off their FW tourney and has the MW title fight between Falcao ans Shlemenko.

Pettis will not go to the ground with Aldo. If he stands with Aldo he will lose. Aldo is faster, and hits harder. He has no chance. What almost gave edgar the 3rd round. A takedown off a kick. Pettis is a purple belt in bjj. He really doesnt go to the ground like that and he wont against Aldo. He will lose though. How bad, that remains to be seen.

I'm not saying Pettis will go the ground, but I don't think if he stands with Aldo he will lose either. Pettis hits hard as well and is the most diverse striker that Aldo has faced. There were some fans (not me) that thought Edgar won 2, maybe 3 rds against Aldo as the fight went on and his output slowed down. Pettis has never been stopped and I don't see Aldo finishing him. You really don't think that Pettis could win 3 rds out of 5?

The fight metric shows Edgar lost. I dont think pettis has a chance because of the people hes lost too. It will be a good fight but he will definately lose. Guaranteed. I dont think you're as sure of yourself as you think. He cannot beat Aldo. Aldo doesnt get held down. Its hard enough for people to take him down. Edgar, got him off his feet, briefly.

He doesn't have to hold him down to win, he can out-strike him. Pettis only has 2 losses on his record, one in the WEC which most agree he should have won and the loss to Guida which was iffy and neither really have any barring on how I feel this fight will go.

Well i guess this is where the discussion ends. I believe he has no chance in outstriking aldo under any circumstances considering the work he got from Guida. If he cant walk through him he has no chance. We'll c though.

Hahaha.. I initially thought Pettis was going to come out ahead by calling out Aldo but now he definitely screwed himself over. August is too long aways. He could've just fought for the LW title by that time. Bendo's a better match up for him considering he's already beat him. Now, he's got a tougher opponent, he's gonna have to get smaller to make weight, a less prestigious title is on the line AND he's still got to wait. Also, Aldo is much more suspect to getting injured so the fight might not even happen.

It would've only been a good deal if he could've fought earlier (same time as Bendo vs Gilbert) and if he had the chance to go for both belts. He played it too smart and messed up in my opinion.

For anybody who cares

Melissa Segura ‏@MelissaSeguraSI

Hearing Manny Gamburyan, scheduled to fight Chad Mendes at UFC157 broke his thumb yesterday and fractured his elbow. He's apparently out.

whoo at that Bellator. I'll stay quiet in case anyone dvr'ed it.

Really entertaining show last night, FW is the strongest division for Bellator. Mike Richman looked really good in his KO victory at the end of the bell, he has really crisp striking.

Sandro looked lackluster and if his opponent didn't keep grabbing the fence, he would have lost.

That Russian fighter did work on his opponent.

Good to see Alexander Shlemenko become their new MW champ, have been a fan of his since EliteXC days. Those body shots to the liver folded Falcao up.
