1) Based on what I've been hearing, VISA/paperwork takes time and would not [likely] be done in time.
2) Weight cut and fighting in a foreign country will be tough on a week's notice.

The Swedish MMA Federation today announced that Alexander Gustafsson has not been cleared to fight at Saturday's UFC on FUEL TV 9 event due to his facial cut.

He'll no longer headline the FUEL TV-televised event, where he was scheduled to fight fellow light heavyweight and promotional newcomer Gegard Mousasi (33-3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Wonder what they will do. Lot's of people are speculating that it may be difficult to find a replacement because of Visa issues.

Even for a free card a Ryan Couture/Ross Pearson headliner is , not a good look for the UFC brand
