Have some former UFC fighter friends that have comps sometimes, in addition for some of the shows I get some side work doing event planning and night club promotions. At the 2nd UFC on montreal, i had a comp tick for the 100 lvl and i swapped it out for the handicap area (Bell Centre in Montreal has THE best handicap zone, 5 feet wide, right at the bottom of 100 zone, almost better than floor seats) So i'm seatin in my seat with my friend and a guy beside strikes up some talk about the show and watching live fights. Turns out its Smitty, from UFC Fight club, he's one of the OG's of the fight club forums right when Dana 1st bought in. And Dana has hooked up all the OGs with jobs in the ufc, so Smitty gets to hosts fight club members meet and greets the wk of events. He gets free flights and hotels for any ufc event world wide. He was tellin me some great stories of having to drive refs to and from the fights sometimes, and being called at 3am to pick up drunken fighters at bars and casino's the nights after fights. So long story short, i know too late. Smitty has 2 ring side comp seats and is just like here, take em. So me and my friend immediately switch to the front and enjoy the fights. So now whenever Smitty comes up to UFC's in TO or Mtl if he has nice comps he hooks em up.

Also, he was telling me that most of the fans you see seating along the run ways, are comped seats too of fight club members, or ppl who follow Dana all over and ask for tickets.

After talking to Smitty, he was tellin me how ufc in montreal with that crowd chanting GSP was the loudest and craziest he ever heard for a UFC. he said in UK they scream a lil not much and the crowds are smaller. Vegas he said they always fill out, but its more a show than a fight there. tonnes of girls and ppl just there to show off not a lot of real screamy rabid fans. Then he said he went to the Brazil show and that was just unreal, said clearly nothing tops the Brazil crowd.

I could understand, Brazilian sports fans in general are the most passionate and hardcore.

I'm very surprised they decided to go with Glover. I was almost sure they would do the rematch, especially with all the buzz surrounding the first fight. I don't mind either way, Gus will get his chance in the future, dude is still young.

For sure. Those two will see each other again. Kinda how Cain and JDS are doing.

Watching Screamin' Steven A Smith do his usual way of interviewing to try to interview Silva and Weidman on first take is awkward. Especially the fact that Anderson in general isn't a big fan of doing these sit down interviews.

I'm cool with them giving Glover his shot barring Jones and Gus don't suddenly fall off in an epic manner, the hype & build for the re-match will make it even bigger. Gus should get the winner of Evans vs Sonnen.

I like they didn't go with the rematch right away as well, I think they rushed the Cain/JDS trilogy and the hype and anticipation for their upcoming fight is no where near where it should be for a trilogy fight for the heavyweight championship

I'm guessing they do Gustafsson/Mousasi for #1 contender

Mousasi is moving to 185. He's done with LHW. Gus will probably fight Lil Nog in Feb in Sweden.

So I guess him fighting Davis(the only contender left at 205 that makes sense) is out of the question since they are training partners? Damn the LHW division is low key trash right now

well.. they will fight still. I'm not sure if they'll do it if it's not for the belt and just a shot but they've said they'll fight. Another option is Cormier if he beats Nelson, but I'm not sure it would be smart to take the only two good matches for Jones and kill one off.

He could also fight Hendo if he beats Vitor, or he could fight Rashad if he beats Chael. The only problem is Jon has shot down so many fights. He said he won't give Rashad a rematch no matter what, so that makes it tough. He refused to give Machida a rematch so that stalled the division and he ended up leaving. He said he doesn't think Hendo should get a shot because he's not good enough to challenge him and he wasn't interested. So yeah, the LHW division is trash.
