Stop, Hunt had a career resurgence in the UFC and has looked better than he has ever had in MMA.

Even if Hunt were at the prime of his career now, it still doesn't really change the fact that Cain is still a better striker than JDS.

Okay, for the millionth time, Cain demonstrated better striking twice against this guy. The guy who could turn around and face down other good strikers that aren't Cain Velasquez. Considering Cain's well-rounded, high pressure striking style, it wouldn't be a far stretch to assume that Cain could and would dominate those other guys to a more dominant degree.

Yes, and JDS has out-striked and KO'd Cain once. Plus, he has dropped and out-striked the likes of Werdum [was KO'd], Hunt [was KO'd], Carwin [inches away from getting finished], Cro Cop [was finished], and dropping the iron-chinned Nelson multiple times is very tough task. Overall, he's accomplished more than Cain has with his striking. I highly doubt Cain out-strikes and finishes [KO via strikes, not GnP] all of the aforementioned fighters

What you're talking about is PURE speculation at this point. The only thing we have to go off of really is how they did when pitted against one another. Cain outclassed JDS. Yet you're still pointing to his other fights, as if they matter, and saying, "Bu-bu-bu-bu-but his other fights he did better than those other guys!!" Well that's all well and good for JDS, but it doesn't matter then you face the best in the division and get your ass whooped in every possible way.

JDS has out-striked and dropped [and often time has KO'd] better strikers than Cain has. That's fact, not speculation.

And Cain hasn't faced those other strikers yet, so you don't know how he'd do in contrast, but considering that Cain completely dominated JDS, it's safer to assume that he'd do better than worse. You don't win future fights off of your past wins. JDS isn't gonna prove he's a better striker than Cain by showing him his resume. He's gotta actually out strike him, JDS wasn't able to do that, therefore he's not as good of a striker because he got so outclassed.

My point still stands.

At the bolded, so the first fight never happened? :snoop:

One punch in the first fight doesn't negate Cain's progress in the second two. Nearly fifty full minutes (and a finish!) of being thoroughly beaten by the better man, and you still think he's the better striker because of the first fight in the set of three.

The fact of the matter is that he got out-striked and brutally KO'd in the first.

At bolded, I see your reading comprehension still needs work.

:heh: You really think the first fight would still matter after the second two? I'm going off of the most recent and relevant results, breh. Seeing JDS get brutalized by a superior striker in Cain in the second two fights calls the jury in. When you look at these fights in their totality, JDS just couldn't deliver a consistent dominant performance that he would need to give to make the case for himself that would suggest that he's the superior striker. Just the one punch in their first fight, followed by nearly 50 minutes of being brutally beaten thereafter.

You need to look at their careers in 'totality'.

Of course the first fight matters. Are you serious breh?

:what: I'm looking at the most important part: When they faced each other. Not the first fluke of a fight or fights against other guys that don't matter nearly as much. The most recent two fights they had showed Cain exhibiting superior striking, hence JDS getting that ass whooped.

Wow. Fluke? Not even remotely true. Either way, I'm not even going to bother.
