Inch-for-inch, Machida, Shogun, Rampage have better striking. I can't name 5 but it's no shame to have less than them. Bones is good but not the best in striking. That height.

Looking at pure striking ability, Machida? Yes, I agree. Shogun? Grappling aside, Jones man-handled Shogun in the striking department in their fight. Rampage? :heh:

Jones might not be the best striker at 205, but he's def. up there.

Jones is up there. Rampage, yes. Inch-for-Inch. He out pointed Machida, breh. Even if you thought Machida won, it was extremely close. I thought Rampage had it though. Rampage has that weird hype around him but his striking is underrated IMO. He closes well, covers up really nicely and he can swing under pressure. Not many fighters can do that. Absorb shots and throw at the same time. Machida was doing his barrage and Rampage was the only one I've ever seen able to counter that type of attack.

Rampage is a slow, plodding, one-dimensional striker. Jones is easily the better and more effective striker. Rampage has been out-striked by the likes of Glover, Jones himself, Rashad, Forrest and even Bader, while no one has out-striked Jones (Gus being the closest).

Rampage has flaws in his MMA package but his stand-up and striking is what I'm talking about and in that dept, he's better IMO. I cited specific examples for my reasoning. Bader, Rashad wanted to wrestle. Forrest was embarrassing. If they ever had a rematch, it would've been like the Shogun rematch with Forrest. Rampage had ups and downs in a long career. MMA math doesn't really work but overall nobody just stands with Rampage and when they do they go night night.

Rampage gets mostly beat by being tied up on the cage and on the ground. Anyways, let's go back to talking shyt about female MMA. LOL

u can be done with the topic all you like but u hurt yourself here gus tired in the 5th and jones utilized his kicks alright but at optimum it was clear who got the better of who hand to hand. The proof is in the pudding and as most know black s dont bruise easily but cacs do :mjpls: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mma-c...stafsson-show-off-ufc-165-225723725--mma.html

'But but but at optimum...' get that BS out of here breh, face the facts. Jones out-striked and beat Gus. Of the 14 media scores, 13 were scored for Jones (with 4 of the scores being 4 rounds to 1 for Jones) . Your logic is so flawed, it's pretty funny actually. Your proof is bruising? :mjlol:

In the striking exchanges they had, Bader and Rashad both got the better of Rampage. Forrest did the same.

Glover, Jones, Hamill, and Machida all extensively stood with Rampage. Remind me again, which one of the them went night night? In Rampage's last 12 fights (spanning close to 7 years), he's KO'd 2 people standing, one was Joey Beltran (:russ:) and the other was Wand (a fight that took place 5 and a half years ago). Rampage's striking is very mediocre.

has jones ever knocked anyone out? if someone says jones isnt that great of a striker he looks alot better due to his size and wrestling base.. why would you then say well look at how jones handled those other top strikers? thats part of the premise of the argument dummies. yall dont think jones could have beaten someone who has better striking than him?

match ups/styles make fights.. hell no jones is not better striker than shogun, rampage, machida, vitor, etc. even if these guys didnt beat him striking when they fought.. you gotta look at common opponents or overall performances when someone is asking you to take reach out of the equation. werdum is not better striker than overeem and cain isnt better than jds.. its game plans taking their opponent out of their strengths and trying to hide their own weaknesses

glover and machida are also great strikers, not surprised they could stand with him for a fight and he had jones twirling around and running in exchanges.. they all respected that mans hands.. rampage has knocked out top strikers in mma through straight striking matches without much threat of a takedown.. jones just doesnt fight the same way and has none of those performances in his career
