yeah just seen it on my phone moments after I posted that, it's a bit clumsy but we all know it makes good business sense and as good as the green fight was this one is more grand. Good litmus test for Eddie I guess but I got cowboy
Alvarez is taking Bobby's spot :patrice:

UFC should go back to the original plan of Masvidal vs Green
Yeah if he ends up fighting on the same card against his og opponent anyway who cares?

The Eddie Alvarez news is welcome but kind of too little too late. Lightweight division isn't as sexy as it was when strikeforce fighters were newly absorbed/Chandler vs Alvarez 1. I have no interest in seeing him fight anyone other than cowboy, Melendez and Pettis

LW is arguably the deepest and strongest division in the UFC. He has so many excellent match-ups: Alvarez/Barboza :damn: Alvarez/ Green :leon: Alvarez/ Miller :ehh: Alvarez/Masvidal, Alvarez/Pearson, Alvarez/Grant, Alvarez/Johnson, Alvarez/Lauzon :ohlawd: Alvarez/Diaz :noah: and that's not including the match-ups you mentioned (Cerrone, Gil and Pettis).

Alvarez/Cerrone is going to be a war. One of the best boxers in the division versus one of the best kickboxers (Cerrone's striking defence is lacking, but his chin makes up for it). I can't see how this fight disappoints :ohlawd:

Although it would be step back for Green (and doesn't make that much sense :heh: in terms of rankings), I would like him to face his original opponent in Trujillo. Trujillo throws bombs and Green isn't afraid to stand and trade. From an excitement stand-point, that would deliver imo

Is that Meisha?

Bisping-Le this weekend...who yall got? I got a feeling Le is gonna hurt Mike bad on Saturday. If Bisping is in great shape, he can win a war of attrition maybe. But Bisping can't stand in front of Cung too long...the wrestling might go bad for him too b/c Cung has those throws. Cung is old but Bisping's chin is not reliable. Only real advantage Mike has is his jiujitsu but the takedowns will be tough and if he's put on his back, he might be getting put to sleep b/f he can scramble/sweep/sub,etc.

I dunno....I'm leaning towards Le but bisping finds ways to persevere and tire guys out...I could see him getting a late submission or even TKO(if Scott Smith could do it, why not Bisping :many: )...this shyt is on fight pass, isn't it.

Yes, Miesha looking fine imo

Taking the best of both cards this weekend:

Michael Bisping vs Cung Le
Tyron Woodley vs Dong Hyun Kim
Ben Henderson vs Rafael dos Anjos
Mike Pyle vs Jordan Mein

I think Bisping does his usual stick & move gameplan and takes a UD decision victory. He's the better boxer imo and I feel he's the more hungry fighter. Le's is up there in age and is nearing the end of his career (although he does look to be in great shape).

If DHK fights like he's been fighting recently, I see him getting taken down and beaten up. I expect DHK to come in into this fight more smart/calculated to go along with his newfound aggression. Overall, this is a close fight. I think Woodley takes it (I see him mixing it up and taking a UD win), but I'm rooting for DHK. With DHK's new style, he leaves many holes in his striking defence, I wouldn't be surprised if Woodley caught and finished him.

I see Henderson using his size, strength and solid kicks to take a clear-cut UD victory. There isn't an area of MMA where I see RDA having the clear advantage. As a result, I just don't see him taking this fight.

Mein via TKO. To be honest, I haven't seen too much for either fighter. But from the fights I have seen, I feel Mein is the better fighter.

as per usual misreading my post before constructing yours. Never said the division lacked depth or talent I said it lacks the sizzle it once had. Look at the names you mention Miller? Grant? Were contenders a year and a half ago now? Far from it grant might even be done. Diaz? Looked like he was ascending 2 years ago now? Now he's holding out with an obvious ceiling as a fighter on display. Lauzon was never the same after Floridian and hasn't been relevant since ufc123.

Whether one rates bellator or not Alvarez is/was it's lightweight champion u don't just make a fight cuz it sounds fun, his opponent should be a relative name with some traction behind him (to put him into titles position). Dude really should be fighting for the title it's just tuf is holding the division hostage

Why don't we add eye gouges, groin strikes, etc. while we're at it. :skip:
One FC allows downed headkicks, unless they've changed the rules since I last checked. I know they're controversial but it reminds me of Pride so :yeshrug:
Cung Le lo

The sizzle has died down a bit because of an injury prone champ and TUF. The division itself is strong & deep.

What's with you and criticizing pretty much every UFC/MMA fighter. No matter how good they are, what they do, who they beat etc. you always seem to have a problem with them.

Maybe him and Master Teacher are split personalities.
