There was something about the premise of this show that genuinely unsettled me, and I couldn't put my finger on it until today.
It's the fact it makes Jim Cornette legitimately happy.
I'm so
at him getting mad about the smallest wrestling related shyt, that I genuinely begrudge him the joy he feels being part of this.
He's probably over the moon that The Rock & Roll Express are the champs at 60+. shyt - he probably booked it. I didn't even mind him in MLW, because he was applying older philosophies to a newer product. In NWA - this cac might as well have hopped in a time machine and gone back to '84. They should let people smoke in the audience to really get the vibe back.
The show itself was fine, decent even - but I really don't think I can tune in week after week to watch Jim sitting at the desk like
while two Southern fried hicks trade holds in the ring..

His career arc is going in reverse: Young rookie working in WCW, establishes himself as an anchor of lower budget more Southern WCW 2.0, now an established old vet working NWA studio show from Atlanta.

Every portion either got over a person, a potential match, a current feud, or a championship.
Nothing felt like wasted time. They used less than hour to actually put on a good wrestling show that accomplished so much.

This roster is way too good when you consider the fact that WWE and AEW are gobbling up all the talent, while Impact, MLW, and ROH are getting the scraps or being used as a stepping stone.
This is old school as fukk.
