It's gonna get scary in a few years for alot of photographers.

You can now just upload a photo and give it some prompts like make a headshot for linked in with me wearing a suit etc. etc. and it looks legit

All that retouching and ish going to a professional it's over brehs

A few years? It's already happening lol. You have the well established photographer saying it's all a tool to make the job easier while the rest are complaining about their bookings drying up. The well established are still getting business at this current moment so they are being very very short sighted. When retouch4me and Evoto hit them phone apps it's gone look scary for them.

Luxury branded, Wedding, Grad, and special moment photographers will still exist for those who have coin and want the experience. All them $2-$400 hourly portrait photographers will be done. business will be so scarce that they will all cannibalize themselves constantly lowering the prices.

I have no idea why photographers want to avoid this conversation :francis:

Iol yeah breh those prompts I saw on chatgpt I was like damn it
Even restoring old images looking flawless no need for that your of work and touch up.

And yeah professional photographers may go like the dodo bird, just wait till future phones have this ish built in and your friend will just shoot your wedding touch a button and everything touched up asap.

Sadly I see it all the time. I’m not even very experienced but I still “pixel peep” and like to look at people’s raws.

I never realized how many photographers in Atlanta shoot in auto, then just get in Lightroom, click “auto” and “denoise, and call it a day lol. People’s portraits look horrible without even zooming in.

Their faces are over smoothed monstrosities, shyt is extremely out of focus, they didn’t even care about the lighting, etc.

I don’t think ai features will be able to completely overtake the photographers that are above and beyond the average shooters. The ones who mastered the science of lighting, angles, depth of field, and have a gift for the art will always be sought after.

Just some “everything went wrong” practice pictures I took with an 85mm.

Too dark, too much ISO, out of focus/missed focus, etc.

Finally got around to processing and had some fun with them. Will probably mess with the rest and post more soon, when I have free time.

Maybe but from shooting weddings like the last 5 years what I noticed is no one cares like we do.

No one is zooming in 50 times no one cares they ain't going to blow it up just post on Instagram or tiktok

I do the same I shoot a wedding and all I do is cull then slap on a filter batch process in retouch 4 me and voila

Back in the day I'd shoot raw, adjust lighting, shadows learn frequency seperation and dodge and burn etc.

You're speaking from a photographers POV. For the average client that's a great substitute for $500. And there's better and more realistic examples out there.

And it's only going to get better

It's like how graphic artists were saying eh midjourney is mid dalle mid and then a few years later ish is killing it .

Just wait till they start building these in phone apps and phone cameras

It's done brehs

Outer Heaven
Ordered a 21mm and 50mm DZO Vespid.
Still selling for $600 off ($800 down from $1,400) since the Vespid 2 lineup got announced which I currently have no interested in since they changed the focal lengths, it isn't much faster at 1.9 vs 2.1, the mounts aren't changeable anymore, and I don't have any need for the cooke technology.
