I use surround sound. I live on the 3rd floor of my house with just my brother in another room so I typically don't have to lower any volume. At night the sound is loud enough for me to play.

Gonna try that when I get home tomorrow. My girlfriend DL'd the update, after it installed and was supposed to restart, it got the blinking blue light.
Amazon, though after I sent it to Sony, I'm not sure if they gave me a new system or actually repaired the one I sent in.

Send it back to amazon they'll swap it out...I had to do that with my launch now and now shyt is working...I still get errors sometimes but I can actually play all my shyt now.
