SoM is garbage.
If your tv has hdmi cec you can use your tv remote with you're ps4. You can also use the ps4 to turn on/off the tv or use the tv to do the same to the ps4.
On Samsung smart tv' s its called Anynet+

Finally got my PS4. Bought it in Tokyo for about 200 SD less than in Singapore (where I live right now). 
Only game I have bought in Dragon Age, but I can tell its going to keep me occupied for a month at least. Will get FC4, TLOU and GTA5 over the coming months, maybe The Order and definitely Bloodborne. Have PS Plus as well, and will get a PSTV to play a few of the Vita games I missed out on.
Only problem is PSN Asia sales are ass.

Throw $4 of it at Escape Goat 2. Picked it up on sale this week and it's pretty good.
