Comments sections and social media don’t really speak for where the majority of PlayStations sales come from

It might differentiate it from Xbox and Nintendo for hardcore gamers but the casual whales don’t care

They represent what's occurring on a greater scale. People deciding to buy a playstation because that's the only way they will be able to play a game or a number of games. Otherwise they would have no problem playing on their current system since almost all 3rd party games are cross gen now. Exclusives do sell playstations with 3rd party games keeping players engaged after completing the exclusives they want to play and waiting on new exclusives. That's why the ps3 was able to catch up to and surpass the 360 despite 3rd party games playing better on the 360. That was all because of exclusives and the ps3 becoming affordable while there was a decline of exclusives with the 360 after the kinect.

2027 seems way too damn early. I then looked at the ps3 release, ps4 release, and the ps5 release. All were 7 years apart. Ps6 might really be coming in 2027

Once I read this it made since. A lot of people complaining online only bud COD and some other GAAS. They whine a lot but don't actually buy games. So their opinions are nonsense because they don't actually contribute to the gaming economy except buying micro transactions lol

The old ways of cutting off old consoles are over. Everyone wanted a seamless multigenerational backwards compatible library, well this is what it looks like

And Sonys games are always well optimized so blame that on shytty ue5 devs

That's the part that always confuses me. People always whined about backwards compatibility which Sony met their demands and created a unified platform from the PS4 onwards. Now developers that aren't first party are always going to chase the highest install base which is always the previous generation and then upscale it for the newer console. On the Ps6 the PS5 will be the floor for some games depending on who they're targeting. So what are people crying about? If Sony went the PS3 route and made something entirely off the wall people would whine that they can't play their PS4 games on there. You can't please some of these idiots. Also people have failed to realize we have reached the point of diminishing returns when it comes to fidelity 4k 60/120 fps is about as good as it gets. Everything else is lighting and artistic direction.

Its funny because people don’t even keep TV’s for more than 7 years anymore and its not as easy to just trade the old model in for a new one

These are the richest and poorest people I have ever seen. Everything is too expensive but they're still consuming and buying too. Flexing on IG but whining is gas increases 5 cent.

This is implying that all playstation studio games and other exclusive will be cross gen the whole gen which won't occur. Otherwise, there would be no point in investing in the technology that's rumored to be in the ps6 that is resulting in people believing next gen consoles are going to be $600-800$ or above. Next gen will be a continuation of this gen. 3rd party games will almost all be cross gen until a few years into next gen when next gen only 3rd party games will start to appear with a number of games still being cross gen or on ps4, ps5, and ps6 the whole gen. With Sony, there will be cross gen games due to already starting on the ps5 and the rest will be ps6 exclusive. The 2nd party exclusives and playstation hero games will be cross gen or ps6 exclusive.

With technology, people underestimate advancements that could occur. Saying this now about graphics until a game sets a new standard graphically that you never believed was possible. Now that 4k at 60fps or above has been solved, other graphical upgrades can be concentrated on. There are also going to be significant advancements outside of graphics such as the cpu along with other advancements next gen. That alone will provide significant advancements next gen only when developers actually utilize the technology. Playstation studio games will, the rest are going to provide the same games with prettier graphics with some exceptions.

Doing some introspective thinking now, I do have some concerns with Ps6 coming.

What did most of this generation consist of? We mostly been getting cross-platform games and remakes. Hardly any exclusives. Had a person stayed with the Ps4, they wouldn't have noticed any difference because all the games we have now can be played on Ps4. Ghost of Yotei and Battlefield 6 can be played on the Ps4


We are just NOW getting next gen type games e.a. Witcher 4, Gta 6, Wolverine, Intergalactic.

What would be the point in upgrading to Ps6? The graphics will be marginally better at a slightly higher resolution. The Ps5 is almost future proof, the Ps5 Pro even more so since a lot of games are now 60fps standard.

Makes you want to skip Ps6 and wait on the PS7 for a massive difference
