We are commanded to love our neighbours, are we not? So what then is the excuse for living in excess, with material possessions we don't need, if the very same possessions could alleviate suffering and even save someone who is on the brink of starvation? How are we loving these people by putting material possessions ahead of their bare necessities?

Get in the Word of GOD. That's the only way you are going to be able to fight the lies that deceive you into feeling the way you feel.
You have to know what GOD said.
Buy books that help explain it to you.
Pray to GOD to give you a better understanding of what HE said.
You have to realize the world is lying to you everyday and you have to have discernment (knowing the Word of GOD) to be able to pick out the lies as soon as they are being told to you.
They don't teach you this in school for a reason. To keep you deceived.
