Sae-byeok—Player 067 in season 1. The girl that almost made it to the final round but was injured due to the exploding glass after the bridge game. Gi-hun made a pact with her that he would take care of her brother if she didn't make it out.
Sang-woo—Player 218 in season 1. Gi-hun's friend that was cutthroat. Duped Ali (Pakistani guy) in the marbles game. Stabbed Sae-byeok as she was bleeding out. Then, in the final round, he stabbed himself in the neck after fighting Gi-hun.
They were the most prominent characters from season 1 besides Gi-hun. It should be fairly easy to remember them.

They didn't magically get courage and start fukking shyt up once they hit their limit. shyt was mad realistic.

if anything the remake's ending was forced..
The ending is mid because the shock value of the fact that the game never ended because south Korea was just one of many isn't there because the frontman always knew it was bigger than him. That's why he's just looking at that lady in the alley like"Oh yeah, Becky got promoted to recruiting, I remember seeing that in the company newsletter."
For that moment to actually hit it had to be someone who thought it all ended with South Korea. They already painted 456 into a corner because we knew he wasn't going to kill that baby. The only person that makes sense after him is the defective detective. A simple rewrite has him take 456's first winnings to his daughter and then see alley and be shocked.
