What racquet and what strings are you using?
I was out there 2 hours in 95 degree sun today

Man, I just have a cheap Wilson beginner's racquet. Will a better racquet really help with this? What racquet and what strings are you using?

I'm reading up on this and it sounds like I'm gonna have to stop playing for a while.![]()

No, I'm not sailing shots too bad but I bet the tension is trash now (I don't know how to tell off hand). I do take a lot of big rips. How often should you change your racquet or get it re-strung?Everything helps. Mostly proper technique
I never have elbow problems and I've been playing since I was 4. Maybe some soreness for a day or two tops and that was when I switched to a different racquet and string. Is the racquet head light? Most are nowadays..I prefer it as balanced as possible. Given that it's a cheap Wilson racquet I'm assuming it's just some standard synthetic gut strings that have lost a ton of tension from sitting in a warehouse/shelf or in the sun for a long period of time. Are you sailing shots long?
For the most experienced players in here..do any of you use lux big banger? It was all the craze years ago..I got convinced to use it and my arm felt like shyt after. Had to swap it out

people will debate that with me as if I take the Bjorn Borg approach but if you're playing well then whatever

I am curious. I have not played in about a year - lord knows I need to get out there - but one of the reasons I ever had tennis elbow was because i was using grips which were too large and ended up gripping the racquet too tightly. Also I hope if you are taking big rips at the ball that you know the faster you want to hit the ball the looser your hitting arm has to be.
Good luck. Maybe you should look up some stretches to do on the web.
Good info. Yeah, I figured gripping it too tight contributed to this.I am curious. I do hit quite a few slices with my backhand and I have a lot of spin on them. When you have time, could you link some different racquets you would recommend?A racquet can last forever with good qualitypeople will debate that with me as if I take the Bjorn Borg approach but if you're playing well then whatever
With that said it's silly to spend 30-50 on a string job for a racquet that cost 60 bucks
It depends on how often you play and your play style. If you hit hard with a lot of spin/slice then it should be more often than if you dont. Different strings last a different amount of time. I almost always play with it until it pops..but I also pop my strings very easily. I crush my serve and put all types of ridiculous action on my shots
This is a good point. Many people grip the racquet too hard. I prefer a bigger grip (usually 2 overgrips, have done 3) and have not had problems but I am probably the exception to the rule on that

Babolat Pure Drive, I’ve been using it for a few years. Highly favours a high topspin game, a bit expensive but worth it (to me at least).I do hit quite a few slices with my backhand and I have a lot of spin on them. When you have time, could you link some different racquets you would recommend?

Hopefully it doesn’t effect the French open and us openFedal proving why they get the most love
