This excuse from pro-Nole fans always makes me laugh. This is false

Even if its true it doesnt matter to me.

The skill level that federer displayed in all facets of the sport are the greatest to ever be displayed on a tennis court.

When i play and coach, I tell myself and my players to play the ball. Make the best shot against the ball every time you can. Yeah, study the opponent and their tendencies etc but focus primarily on the ball and make the right play against it every single time.

Federer did that. Strategy, tactics, shot making, consistency, power, finesse..serve, volley, forehand, backhand..slice etc.

Dude had all of it. Its not like he was squeaking by these so called inferior opponents. They had to play the match of their lives AND hope fed didnt play his best to beat him on the big stage. Safin did that in the aussie final for instance

Novak and nadal simply dont have the game fed has.

I've said it before, at this point what Fed needs more than anything is for one of the younger players to finally breakthrough

a lot of the younger gen have good games but the mental aspect for some of them is just completely absent :francis:

I watched FAA play some great tennis this season only to get to the Finals of tournaments and get the :merchant: each time :martin:

Medvedev is my prediction to break thru
I dont think highly of Zverev right now and Tsitsipas is too emotional

Yeah most young players on the pro tour and below do not have the total package. Either they are extremely mentally tough but have below average skills or they are immensely talented but weak between the ears. Idk if its because of their parenting growing up, coaching or both but they just dont have it

Nah it isn't false, look at his record against the two other guys gunning for GOAT status. He dominated a weaker era tree that's a fact, he won't finish with the most slams and when that happens his fans will use the look of his game to put him above everyone else :russ:

He's been great no doubt but he likely won't be GOAT when it's all said and done.

He dominated a far weaker era, putting his titles in perspective against quality opposition Djokovic has been more dominant.

Fed made the era look weaker than it was by completely demoralizing people. Roddikk would have maybe 3 slams if Federer didn't own him. Hewitt would have a couple more. Davydenko would have at least one. Maybe Haas would have squeaked one out. Djokovic's great advantage was becoming a terminator just as Federer's movement went from outrageous to merely very good and Nadal's knee issues intensified. Peak Djoke would still beat either of them on a great day, but he wouldn't have a mental or physical advantage. Prime and near-Prime Djokovic was getting bounced from slams by oldheads like Safin and Roddikk.

Exaclty. "Weak era" is just a lazy claim to act like Djokovic and Nadal are some demigods who faced way better comp, when the reality is everybody looked much worse compared to Roger cuz he was so good in his prime

No it was a weak era period, this is the greatest era and he has played some of his best tennis in his 30's, the problem is he's going up against players that are equal and better than him in certain aspects in Nadal and Djokovic.

You really have no clue as to what you're talking about, compare the guys Djokovic has had to defeat to win his slams compared to Federer. Sure Federer could only face what was in front of him but don't act like plenty of his slams haven't come against weaker opposition.

In the case of Nadal he's missed like what 10 slams due to injury and yet he's this close in terms of slams won, get a clue man.

But you've just described Djokovic as you literally have to be at your best to have a chance. Federer played sublime tennis Wimbledon 2019 but still lost to Djokovic all because Djokovic has that little but extra that gets him through. Federer couldn't be off colour like that and still win against Djokovic.
Novak and nadal simply dont have the game fed has.
Explain Wimbledon 2008 and the many times Djokovic has beat Fed when playing at his best.

When i say game i mean all around game and skills. Fed has a more diversified arsenal than novak has
