Murray could wear down everybody with his defense but like you said against those 3, he didn't have the 1 weapon you absolutely need as a "get out of jail" card. I think that fact blinds people to how great his accomplishments really are considering the era he played in.

he is very accomplished and had a great career. just never did anything to wow me on the court. i do respect his grit and resilience in his recent comeback from injury though..and that he started playing doubles a bit more

You've lost all credibility :russ:

Have a think about this and then edit your comment. Monfils is not better than Murray at all!

i stand on it

monfils can do things murray cannot do and everything he can

when you get into mental abilities and durability of a playstyle over the span of a tournament is where murray overtakes him

Your argument is flawed I don't really care if he can do some things better, when he puts it in a package it amounts to nothing.

That doesn't make him a better player at most you can talk about talent but who really cares when the player in question is 36 years old?

Like I said you've lost all credibility, just say you don't like Murray and leave it at that. Saying that as a supposed tennis coach and player this is embarrassing.

Ok monfils is more talented and Murray is more consistent

Are you happy now?

Consistency doesnt impress me other than having the mental wherewithal to enact that strategy

I personally like shot makers. I dont like watching pushers.

To each their own

And obviously I meant in their primes. Murray is obviously better now than an inactive monfils. What type of gotcha is that?

remember Novak was suppose to be up 2 sets in the 2007 USO vs Fed but just fukking choked. I wanna say BOTH times he was serving for the set and like just double faulted the game back to Fed :dead:

yep he did....first set, serving for the set with 3 set points and choked. Then on Fed's serve in the 2nd set, he was up 15-40 and choked. He was on Nadal's head at the 2007 FO too

The signs were there for Novak in 2007. Just didn't have the mental strength yet

Great video, thanks for posting

Game was lit :whew:

First tournament back...first title of the year

Now the hard part for Alcaraz...defending Rio next week and all the points he gained leading up to RG which I feel he has a great chance to win

But good to see him back out there...the sport needs it.

Swiatek just won Doha, a WTA 1000 with a pretty stacked field. She lost 5 games all tournament. Even if one of those matches was a walkover (and she lost 3 of those games in the final), that's still crazy.

She should be #1 straight for the next two years health permitting or if she doesn’t fall off a cliff.

Andreescu looking right in her outfit and playing well so far too
