I have been saying for years that Alcaraz didn't really know how good is he is yet. Crazy to say for someone with alot of grand slams... but Alot of times he would just play on instinct, play to the level of his opponent, and just counter whatever his opponent is giving to him

But the Rome tournament a couple weeks ago and this Roland Garros was the first time I have ever seen him actually take control of the game and impose his will. Being down 0-2, he took it to Sinner, dictated the points, etc. He saw Sinner getting tired in the 4th and 5th set and then decided to push him around and do alot of drop shots in ruthless fashion. And to be up 7-0 in the 5th set tiebreak really showed that killer instinct. Amazing

The championship points will undoubtedly hurt but what I think will really leave a mark is how Carlos elevated to a level in the last set tiebreaker that even Sinner can't reach. That's much more sobering and scarier for Jannik.
I also think fatigue played a large part. Sinner was just dog tired.

Don't be the least bit surprised if Sinner takes Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.

He's closed the gap on clay more than Alcaraz has closed it on grass/hard court over the past year or so.

Give me one more Djokovic Grand Slam, please.:mjcry:.

Great points. I also look to the match with that sneaky Bosnian who gave Alcaraz hell with that ugly unpredictable brand of tennis. Sinner could’ve done with a little more dark arts.

Sinner will be ok, but man. Something like this can haunt a man forever.
If it was on his serve, definitely.
