So Sinner who is from Italy and sounds like Super Mario is German?

yankees .. always quick to show the world that they know little about it :hubie:

"Jannik Sinner was born 16 August 2001 to Hanspeter and Siglinde Sinner in Innichen in the province of South Tyrol in Northern Italy. His mother tongue is German"

South Tyrol:

"According to the 2024 census, 57.6% of the population used German as its first language; 22.6% of the population spoke Italian, mainly in and around the two largest cities (Bolzano and Merano)"

"South Tyrol as an administrative entity originated during the First World War. The Allies promised the area to Italy in the Treaty of London of 1915 as an incentive to enter the war on their side. Until 1918, it was part of the Austro-Hungarian princely County of Tyrol, but this almost completely German-speaking territory was occupied by Italy at the end of the war in November 1918 and was annexed to the Kingdom of Italy in 1919."

also:

"In 2016 South Tyrol had a GDP per capita of €42,600, making it the richest province in Italy and one of the richest in the European Union."

Not surprised Sinner won yesterday. Him and Alcaraz will trade wins/slams for hopefully the next 10+ years.

Shout out to Iga too. I for sure thought she was going to continue to slide going into Wimbledon but she took care of business easily

I have no recollection of this happening so I’m assume this is AI :stopitslime:

What about this? I'll refresh your memory and let you know this is the match where Federer was bitter beyond belief after the match. People give Djokovic crap, but Federer was far too often bitter and a sore loser when he would get smacked by the GOAT.

I didn't.

Just needed to post some Djokovic videos. :pachaha: .

Probably not going to see another Grand Slam Championship from him unless there are two major upsets at the U.S. Open.

I think he’s capable of getting past Carlos on hard court (he reads his serve really well) and there is some mental scar tissue there for Carlito.

He’s got no chance against Sinner…Sinner hits too big, moves too well and just does Joker’s game now better than he physically can. It’s like the T-100 playing the T-1000

Yeah, the issue is he needs to likely play both if he is going to win. Otherwise, he needs to just hope one of them are upset.

Watching that 2011 USO SF live was :wow: remember Fed going up 2 sets and thought “well this will be over soon” and a few hours later, seeing that match point return winner was :wow:

Nole stole 2 Nadal vs Fed match ups at the USO :mjcry: cause from 2011 until Fed retired, their (Nadal and Fed) fall hard court games never peaked at the same time where a USO meeting was possible (outside of 2017 when Delpo beat Fed a round before a Nadal match up was possible)

2012 - Nadal - DNP
2013 - Fed “slump”
2014 - Nadal - DNP
2015 - Nadal slump and upset to Fognini
2016 - Nadal slump and upset to Pouille, Fed DNP
2017 - Fed upset to Delpo
2018 - Fed upset to Millman
2019 - Fed upset to Dimitrov
2020 - Neither played
2021 - Fed was retired

2019 was supposed to be the year but his body gave out again. All those deep runs in the 2000s killed his body later in his career.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Alcaraz and Sinner physically if they're in every Slam final for the next three years or so (or nearly every Final).
