And i don’t care if it was a “weak” era, what Fed did during his peak, when you REALLY look at it….i see why he’s still considered by some the GOAT

He has some unfathomable streaks that I don't think will ever be broken. Those finals/semifinals streaks at Slams are unreal.

People talk about Federer on grass, which obviously for good reason. But man, watching him on a hard court with his forehand and serve was an absolute thing of beauty. While alot of people loved to "grind it out" on hard court, he really knew how to make short and precise points

I find it kind of hilarious Federer's prime was called a "weak era" when you had the past 5-7 years see Tst*tsipas and Nick Kyrios make a grad slam final

I don't follow tennis development enough to know this - but why has US men rally skill declined in recent decades? It's been 20+ years since Roddikk for god sake. Tennis players are rich so economic incentives aren't the answer here, and tennis players don't have the body type to compete in other sports - there are enough fit US men to provide a pipeline. Doesn't seem to be an issue on the women's side.

I've been watching tennis since Venus first blew up, but Sabalenka vs Fernandez 4 years ago was the match that got me started as a tennis fiend ... It had the same energy as Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage at Wrestlemania III

I don't follow tennis development enough to know this - but why has US men rally skill declined in recent decades? It's been 20+ years since Roddikk for god sake. Tennis players are rich so economic incentives aren't the answer here, and tennis players don't have the body type to compete in other sports - there are enough fit US men to provide a pipeline. Doesn't seem to be an issue on the women's side.

Lack of a want to get to the net. The serve and volley is close to dead, especially for the US Men. All they want to do is bomb shots from the baseline. Having a great serve and net game is considered "optional" and a "bonus". Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul are the only players from the US who I see are actually intent on playing a somewhat serve and volley game, they are the only well rounded players to me

I’m 39 and been a tennis FANATIC since 2007 Wimbledon final. Liked Fed going in but became a Nadal fan after the match. Back when Monfils was still seen as the next big thing

Tennis kinda changing now. Kids don’t know how to construct points, they now know how to hit big. If that doesn’t work, hit bigger.

The other day Shelton admitted he’s now learning how to be more by the book and it may make him more boring
