Nah...he's benifitting from a field of peers on the downslide. Fed not in his prime, Nadal not in his prime etc...he's fuccin ridiculous as a player but we need to not jump the gun here and put things in their proper perspectives


The fact that old ass Fed is still legit competition lets you know this field of men players isn't as high as it once was

We could go on and on about it but ultimately one's domination always is a combination of one being too good for opponents appearing too weak ("I made them look like nobody" - Roy Jones Jr). Fed's era wasn't really that stacked either to be frank. Man beat Philipoussis, Baghdatis, Blake or 35 yo Agassi in major finals We always shyt on Nadal for stating his comp was weak but the same could be said for Fed also. Because once Nadal and Djoko hit their prime, Fed's aura started fading. Finally, 2011 and 2015 proves Djokovic is up there, so there's no real argument against that imo.

And really Fed being still being legit simply means is one of a kind. Like Serena still dominating 20 years after coming to the game. Fed is currently the best player in the world. After Novak I'm not saying Novak is GOAT status yet. Just that next year, we'll have to legit consider his application if he keeps dominating like that.

Federer might be 34 but he doesn't play like he is, age isn't a factor for him at the moment, he's still putting on masterclasses against everyone bar Nole

Murray can beat Novak w/o Lendl but I see what you mean. Tactically it seems like Murray isn't as aggressive going for winners against Novak and was trying to wait for Novak to make errors. Too often I thought he would crank up the forehand cross court but would moonball it back to Novak

We'll see how GOAT status he is after he starts to lose steps. Fed, is one of a kind like you said, but he made subtle adjustments to keep winning slams after the age of 29. Nadal, who turned 29 last year, starting to accept changes are going to be needed cause his style of play is a young man's style and his body isn't as fast or as strong as it use to be.

Novak will sleep, EVERY athlete does, it's just that we seem to be in an era where the generation after them haven't made that leap yet to usher out the big 3/4.

This is very true.

Federer said this as well, he said Murray waits for mistakes rather than being aggressive! And that's what holds him back from winning more majors. Some of the shots Novak takes are crazy and he plays aggressive no matter the score.

Fed is thought of to have the most complete game but now that Novak gothis health and his mind right.... I'm not seeing any flaws when he's on point.

Any player can have a great night or an off night, but you can't deny Novak's consistency. I compare his groundstrokes to Steph Curry 3. When they miss, its like

It's crazy the three best player of all-time are from the past 15 years. Novak's gonna make a run at Fed's major titles if nobody steps up in the men's game. Fed had Nadal and then Nadal had Novak. Who's got next?

IMO, if he didn't play a 2 day five setter against Muzza last year, he would have won the final. I don't remember well how it went but he was up 2-0 and he should have won in straights. Not trying to take away any merit from Stan who played great in the final but it was obvious, Novak didn't have the optimal rest.

Yea I can agree with that being said. I just seen Stan hitting winners against him that no matter how much rest Novak woulda had, those backhands from Stan would have STILL been winners. He was GOATing out there after the first set

Nah son, I don't agree with that at all.
If that's the case, then Nadal is undefeated when 100% healthy and only loses when he's not .

He probably slept in the egg afterwards anyways he had optimal rest breh.

Great offense beats great defence in tennis 10/10, even on clay, just really damn hard to keep up consistently.

Why else did federer beat Nole in '11 FO?
