Watch @Mazino ignore this post :wow:

:ehh:

and the lack of competition in the latter stages of Novax's career.

"Wimbledon Grass Is Green but Slower
WIMBLEDON, England — Nine days before his defeat, Roger Federer was convinced that the grass at the All England Club no longer lived up to its reputation for speed.

Despite the immaculate appearance of Centre Court on opening day, he said, “Obviously, they’re not the fastest courts anymore.

Eddie Seaward, the head groundskeeper for 20 years, saw it differently.

“The ball comes off the same speed, but I think it comes a little bit higher,” he said. “So you get a little bit higher bounce.”

What is the difference? About a tenth of a second, Seaward calculated.

This may seem insignificant to fans and ordinary players, but not to the world’s top players. They noticed that the soil, seeded with a strain of rye grass that allows the sun to dry the ground more deeply, had changed the speed of play."

"“You’re getting the longer rallies,” Seaward said. “You’re getting different people winning the court championship, you’re getting different players coming through, which is good, I think.”

Clay-court specialists, who once shunned Wimbledon, have been lured back."

"When he first played at Wimbledon, Djokovic said, it was “the fastest surface in the world.” Now, he said, “in my opinion, it got slower.”"

What "competition" was there during Federer's earlier days?

Some of you Fed fans are hilarious, go and look up who Federer has had to beat to win the majority of his slams compared to both Nadal and Djokovic.

Makes me wonder whether you really know tennis like that or whether you're just some casual so called fans.

Blaming the speed of courts for why Federer dropped off :mjlol:

Djokoic and Nadal would have eaten in ANY era, shameless posts.

It's the duration of tournaments

You can play a match or two just fine but need time to recover. Playing a regular tournament schedule is brutal

I hurt my back and can play a match 2 times a week at partial strength but if I was in a legit tournament I'd get wrecked

yea...most tournaments, you're playing every other day and then you'll have with the GS (Wimbledon) where you're playing everyday in the 2nd week.

that's not even taking into account the constant traveling too

and you fell into the trap.

ignored the "slow courts" proof vs. your #delusional statement as I knew you would.

:mjlol:

waste of tiime talking to people with selective myopia

not even honest enough to address what THEY themselves said.

Slowing down courts predominantly lessens potency of ones serve, so what you're saying is that Federer was far too reliant on it and once he actually had to compete more physically, he wasn't up to it? At the end of the day it's a sport, if you can’t hang that’s on you.

Tennis at its heart is about being a problem solver out on the court by yourself, sports evolve its either adapt or die.

And like I said before go back and see who he had to beat to win the majority of his slams compared to Nadal and Djokovic, not even comparable.

The pure amount of matches in its timeframe is underrated

These players are machines

yea it’s disingenuous to suggest that only Fed didnt benefit and Nadal and Nole benefited from court changes because they were still pups making it to the 3rd and 4th round of Wimbledon and the Australian Open before they turned 20 years old. Them two were coming for the throne no matter what.

Exactly.

I think it's hilarious to suggest he's the GOAT but then also try and say he was overthrown because of court changes.

How can you be the greatest and yet you couldn't overcome court changes? Not being adaptable is not a trait of the best of all time in my book.

Then there's the fact that courts today (particularly hard courts) remain hella fast.

Felix finally showing up in a final :blessed:
It's about time, he's playing well for a while now being able to come back from losing 1st sets in matches and still managing to win.

Hopefully he can take the 1st set here, it would be the first set won in an ATP final for him.
