I don't care how it gets worked out but this curfew rule has to go. It's an issue for one week. Work something out with the public transport to get a bunch diverted for this event but a Grand Slam should not have matches called at 10:30 because it's too late. It's embarrassing.

Isnt it the locals also, Wimbledon is right by housing and I think the curfew helps for those that are living in the area not having sound pollution early hours etc. I personally dont mind 11pm curfew and I think AO and US Open should adjust their scheduling as finishing some games at 2-4am local time is crazy for the players and fans attending. No other sport gets to those hours.

@Nero Christ @Regular_P @Formerly known as... @BlackAchilles i been meaning to ask yall these two things…

1. Which grand slam, CROWD wise on center court/the main court, has the best crowd?

2. Which grand slam has the best crowd(s) in supporting a player from that country?
1.) US Open by a mile. They'll give it to anybody and I do believe it is a reason nobody's repeated there since Fed.

2.) I tilt USO simply because more Americans are in the running on a regular basis, even if they're relatively weak, compared to the other three. Seems like there's always at least one man and woman making a run of some sorts in New York.

I love the late matches. Going to a night session at the USO is on my bucket list. I want one of those 2-3 AM endings with 300 people left in the stands.

Is there any other tournament the entire year that has a curfew? The fact a Slam has matches stretched multiple days, not because of weather, but because of a curfew is amateurish. Either start the matches earlier so everything is wrapped up in time, get an exception for the two weeks of the tournament (really, it'd be one week since there's fewer matches in week two) and plan ahead to get extra public transport in the area, or find a new venue.

Typically it is weather that effects Wimbledon. If weather is all good for 2 weeks then the curfew is a non factor. At some point US and specially the AO will alter their game times because the players are really against the night sessions ending way to late. Eventually something will give and the players health will be the key point. It is a great spectacle to see night games but 3,4,5am is unnecessary

This isn't the NBA. :childplease:

Late finishes are part of the appeal of the US and Aussie.

I get you, and in fact US Open to me has the best atmosphere with the lights shining down on the night games. I was just thinking for the players but reality is it is a great appeal and looks good.
