Canada accepts over 250k immigrants on an annual basis and the population still isn't growing exceptionally. 25k is literally a drop in the bucket and will not have any noticeable affect on any of the mentioned. Besides plenty of black Canadians, among others, immigrated to Canadian during rough economic spells. Y'all spewing talk radio rhetoric that was definitely the tune of the day whenever your parents were admitted here.
Most immigrants accepted have to go through the process, apply, pay application fees, go through different testing, pass the required tests etc.

Also find it amusing how same people, who would lose it over any increase in social spending on *current* Canadians, using low-income folks as the premise of their opposition to the refugee. About the only time you will ever hear Conservative voters talk about the homeless and the poor in a slightly humanizing way.

Are you suggesting Canada has never resettled refugees? Canada has always resettled refugees through the UNHCR, even under the Conservatives. This isn't counting privately sponsored refugees. The same programs have existed for decades. Viets, Afghans, Somalis, Ethios, Eritreans, Kosovans, Serbs and countless other current Canadians came to Canada through both programs. Are you saying Canada should accept zero people outside of economic class immigrants?
