Their settlement happened way, way before Harper, majority of Ukrainian-Canadians settled here between 1930s-1950s.
Third, fourth, fifth generation Ukrainian-Canadians are basically indistinguishable from other white Canadians, for better or worse, aside from their last names. No one really thinks about Ukraine when they think of people like Kelly Olynyk, Alex Trebek, Gretzky etc

The ones who are fresh off the boat can be some of the most rude, intolerant, argumentative people you have ever met. I have already had several run ins with them, and I wasn't looking for trouble. They can be a$$holes, and behave like because they are white, and moved to a predominantly white country, that they can talk to nikkas any sort of way, even though I am a citizen, and rhey are just a fukking temporary refugee.
You know what, to answer your question, I would prefer indians. They are a nuisance in large numbers, but not 1 indian has talked to me rudely ever.
And as I said, they are proud of their nazi heritage. I don't want battle hardened white supremacists moving here in numbers. Obviously all of them aren't white supremacists, but look at the article I posted earlier. The more we bring, the more of these people will slip through the cracks.
