These Mali youths are dying because:

1-they weren't born overseas and didn't immigrate, so they don't have the old world influence
2-they came of age during a time (00s) where the services and mentorship were lacking, because the community is so young. It's only now that you have that first generation hitting their 30s, developing careers and able to give back
3-Typical culture gap between parents and children
4-Absentee fathers
5-Hip hop and gang/drug culture, with no alternative identity

Majority of them came from a good family
Yes father was absent but no drug history or alcohol abuse
Food and shelter was not the issue

I don't know man ..shyt is sad asf

True, sometimes the father is present but the problem is that they would rather live in those dangerous govt housing like Jamestown or Ardwick just pay like 200$ on rent. A lot of families be balling but at what cost? Your kids dying n living in a rough environment? Priorties smh.
