Youll see some but some of them be in costume trying to look spanish and shyt and yea tonight and tomorrow night yonge st from queen up to like wellesley youll see cats on both sides posted up....you could see dudes last night looking at weekend positions strolling up and down yonge...

EC will be packed tomorrow...

This.

I did the Caribana 'chill on Yonge street and do nothing' once 10 years ago, and that was a wrap. Never again.

Entire strip from Queen up to College packed with folks posted up against the walls of every store doing nothing. Never seen so many people on Yonge in my life. Posers from the US showing off their whips with spinners and LCD monitors in every part of the car (ie: sideskirts............) Felt bad for those workers at BK and Popeyes across from Eatons' who had to do the late shift :wow:

Couldn't even count the amount of times an entire crowd would run and topple over each other cause someone would yell "gun!!!" :dead: Folks had nothing to do/couldn't get in the clubs that it got to the point where crowds of people made their own game of clogging up the sidewalk so people would have to walk onto the street.. leading them to step into the piles of shyt the police horses would drop; just so they could cheer and laugh at the person. This ended up going on both sides of the street. And that's the lasting memory I have a Caribana night on Yonge :pachaha:

Fri night Yonge st was fun when I was a younging (like 10-15 years ago)...3 hrs on one side of Yonge, make your way to king/queen, walk back up :heh:

I remember one year, getting head from some drunk white girl in one of them side alleys :ahh:

if its still the same, nikkas will be posted up on the wall/stoop...thots scurrying up and down...suped up rides creeping like they about to do a drive by...pure fukkery

if you over 19, avoid at all costs :camby:

Let's balance this shyt out.

One of my cousins got married at the Sheraton on Caribana Saturday like 10-12 years ago, that was probably the best Caribana memory I've got. Took 3 hours to drive in but it was a chill traffic jam with people pumping some classic jams. Still remember the group with the green jeep bumping Love & Happiness. Wedding was cool and afterwards we went around to check out the scene. People were dancing in the streets and having a good time, it wasn't the overcrowded douche-fest it is now.

Definitely. Vince Carter's charity games were another good Caribana-related memory.

I feel like now to have the same kind of good time you gotta drop 5x as much cash to get into exclusive events. The atmosphere is more tense cuz of the crowding. The number of cops and pros on the stroll has skyrocketed. I haven't gone out since I moved from downtown about 5 years ago. From what I hear from those who continue to, it's just continued in the same direction.

Not much has changed, as I've still driven through the chaos every year since. That's just what it is. Being 18-19 back then, it was just a night out on the town.

Yup. That's essentially what it was. Folks that couldn't get into/afford the premium for the clubs, left to chill on Yonge all night. If only that arcade was still boppin' :dead: Wanda's Waffles is going to kill it though :whew:
