I did the Caribana 'chill on Yonge street and do nothing' once 10 years ago, and that was a wrap. Never again.
Entire strip from Queen up to College packed with folks posted up against the walls of every store doing nothing. Never seen so many people on Yonge in my life. Posers from the US showing off their whips with spinners and LCD monitors in every part of the car (ie: sideskirts............) Felt bad for those workers at BK and Popeyes across from Eatons' who had to do the late shift
Couldn't even count the amount of times an entire crowd would run and topple over each other cause someone would yell "gun!!!"Folks had nothing to do/couldn't get in the clubs that it got to the point where crowds of people made their own game of clogging up the sidewalk so people would have to walk onto the street.. leading them to step into the piles of shyt the police horses would drop; just so they could cheer and laugh at the person. This ended up going on both sides of the street. And that's the lasting memory I have a Caribana night on Yonge

Let's balance this shyt out.
One of my cousins got married at the Sheraton on Caribana Saturday like 10-12 years ago, that was probably the best Caribana memory I've got. Took 3 hours to drive in but it was a chill traffic jam with people pumping some classic jams. Still remember the group with the green jeep bumping Love & Happiness. Wedding was cool and afterwards we went around to check out the scene. People were dancing in the streets and having a good time, it wasn't the overcrowded douche-fest it is now.
agree... thats what we're saying...Caribana then >>>>>>>>>>>> Caribana now
This.

ten years ago? are your experiences even really relevant? everyone's saying how bad it is now. if it was that bad for you way back in the day then ...
You got cats that come up here for the entire weekend just to hang out on yonge st and do nothing...lame as fck...
Even 10 years ago id be like ok post up smoke a blunt, drink a lil before going somewhere but not to chill out there all night![]()
Not much has changed, as I've still driven through the chaos every year since. That's just what it is. Being 18-19 back then, it was just a night out on the town.
Yup. That's essentially what it was. Folks that couldn't get into/afford the premium for the clubs, left to chill on Yonge all night. If only that arcade was still boppin'Wanda's Waffles is going to kill it though
