Yea, if you are gonna cheap out and pay some professionals less money then police are literally the last I'd put on the chopping block. I know what it's like to live in a country / city where police are payed peanuts - it is not pretty. You want to make it as difficult as possible for corruption to fester. Plus symbolically think of what it would mean to pay officers peanuts, here you have a group of people who are supposed to uphold the law (the law nikkas!) and we as a society have decided that they aren't worth paying six figures or whatever rate it is that's been arbitrarily decided against. & keep in mind officers in TO are already used to riding the gravy train - cut their pay significantly and you will be met with nothing but animosity.

It's hard to become one because the spots are limited and folks aren't giving it up. Every profession is racist but who cares

Black males in this are severely lacking in every profession except retail, fast food and ttc

I want to be a firefighter, is the profession generally racist?

The city will pay a cop like 70 bucks a hour to direct traffic.
The police budget is astronomical. Hell in many ontRio towns its almost banrupting them paying these outrageous salaries.

In broke ass Windsor, only the mayor n cops are making money and taxpayers can't afford it.

Ppl actually think if cops were making 60k instead of 100k that crime would soar

Cops making more than nurses, pharmacists, engineers, lawyers, only in Canada


Kicking 1,500 pigs to the curb would save 150 mill a year.

Think that the amount of cops bring paid 100k = low crime.

Winnipeg has high crime due to its high native American population.

Average cop in Singapore the safest country makes 42k a year

So miss me with that.

Toronto has more police cars than it does officers.

Toronto spends more per officer than NYC does

police, firefighters and EMT's are the last thing you should worry about when it comes to terrible spending and tax spending though.

of course I'm not OK with carding or any of that nonsense. but I am down for having low crime rates and safe neighbourhoods for my kids.

you can always move to winnipeg if you want lower taxes.....

you can't complain about living in a world class city with lots of amenities, and its also one of the safest and most diverse places in the world and not have to pay for it bruh.

and with that being said...Toronto isn't even the most expensive place in Canada to live.

So this the inhabitants of the Danforth have finally had enough after this Drive-by Shooting at the hookah spot. they say its about the violence but i think its about greek-town not looking too 'Greek' these days.

Ive been to that spot plenty of times back in the day, mostly East Africans went. Theyve been tryna get it shut down since it opened. These kids are wreckless though. Second time a kid got killed in front of the spot. But I bet the Souvlaki spot wouldnt get shut down if a shooting happened in the parking lot
