Been to London several times, they simply support their local hiphop scene to a much greater extent than Toronto does. Theres tons of British rappers with little name recognition outside of the UK who do well enough to sell-out shoes, get big streaming numbers, YT views etc Check out how active the GRMDaily channel is for example. IMO Torontos scene can hardly compare... You can go out there and have the DJs set be 98 percent UK music, that would be impossible in Toronto cause there arent enough listenable trackswe dont necessarily have a culture that resonates in rap, we're pretty much just rehashing a lot of american shyt tbh
its funny because not many nikkas from toronto embrace our slang in their music yet in london, which is heavily caribbean populated, they've embraced that culture in their music for years. Thats why you'll hear nikkas like JME or Skepta incorporate "man dem" or "Tings" in they raps.
So I guess you can explain their incorporation of their own slang in their music, as a function of a having a flourishing local industry that doesnt need a cosign elsewhere to rock.
They are Canadian.............Integration is one of our country's strong points
