The area where this happened is only 40 mins from Montreal. Rednecks everywhere outside of city limits. At least the towns just outside of Toronto are somewhat tolerant.

I played hockey never had a problem but I never went to the Quebec region.

When I went on games outside of Toronto I’d always have a contingent of my family like 15 deep

I played hockey as a kid but quit at age 12. I hated playing tournaments in those shythole towns in Quebec, Upstate New York, and Vermont. Traded hockey for basketball, soccer, and football and life was after that.

I've been to Barrie before and seen Georgina listed on the road signs. I felt a real vibe over there, lots of cacs staring but nobody said anything though.
