Again, stupid response. COVID is here and we have to live with it which means we should still do what we can to protect ourselves from it, not completely ignore it.

I think my travels this year prepared me for the end of the mask mandate
Went to Cabo Mexico in January no masks, Miami in February no masks, London for March break zero masks. So this is a natural continuation of what I've gotten accustomed to when I leave this place.
The running joke overseas is Canada is always 6 months behind the UK when it comes to policy regarding anything. They follow never lead.

When I went to uk in september 2021 no one was wearing a mask as well
Only thing is I want is remote work to continue everything else can get back to normal
No one cares about covid anymore. With the home kits the number is prob like 15,000 cases a day but no one is dying and hepatizations are flat
No one cares until they have a bad reaction to it. People ARE dying, what do you mean? On top fo that, people who get it and recover..many are having terrible long term effects. That doesn't count for anything? I have no issue with loosed mandates. But, to let everything go is irresponsible. Folk talk about other parts of the world. I mean, most of the world couldn't even get organized with vaccines so I don't even count them, they had no choice. Then there are countries in Europe and Asia that removed all restrictions and then had to add them back.
I don't get the point in acting like shyt is sweet. I want to believe yall and think it's done with but I simply am not confident. We are here because the government decided to not follow science and decided that an election was more important.
I would have liked to see loosened mandates with masks being worn in indoor public spaces.

It is because Omicron is so transmissible, that the logic behind the masks is weakened. COVID waves will come and go, no matter what intervention is in place, and its a widespread consensus that will not be eliminated.
The position now is either: 1) mask mandates forever and still deal with COVID or 2) drop the mandates and deal with COVID. There is no third option.
Beyond that, there is nothing exceptional about what Ontario is doing. Every single province in the country has already dropped them, and most of the world reached this stage in the beginning of the calendar year.

Then get a fourth booster and fifth booster. Fact of the matter is there's options out there. I think cases will always be high for this but the key thing is the death not being high. nikkaz are dying from the flu, nikkaz are dying in the Ukraine, nikkaz dying everday B. Time to move on.
i have friends and family in HK. People there simply didn't give a fukk anymore, stopped wearing masks. And they mingled in groups after Chinese New Year and ate together, again not wearing masks.
It also exploded because it's Lunar New Year all over Asia, so people flew back to their hometowns to celebrate hence the quick and sudden spread of BA.2 over there

Ill defer to you on HK, but theres plenty of reporting about high mask compliance in Korea, and the spike is uniform across Pacific countries right now regardless of policy taken.

COVID spikes and declines will happen, mask or no mask. More importantly, COVID cannot be eliminated, so when are you ok with lifting mask mandates? Never? Zero cases is not around the corner.
