How come when I drive by construction sites in Toronto I NEVER see nikkas working. Eglinton by the Allen has been shut down for like two years now, and I NEVER see one motherfukker working there. How long does it take to dig up some road and put down a few rail tracks?

I did construction when i was 17 and was a contract inspector for the city of Toronto for construction on the roads when I was an engineering intern. Most people get into construction through family connects and most of those people are Italian or Portuguese (illegal Portuguese lol). Its rare to eveb see a regular white person doing construction. That said there are lots of black people working in the trades, just in smaller companies.

How much are you looking to spend monthly? Where do you live now?

^ you can find something downtown that's inexpensive if you're willing to have roommates.

while i was moving out today, i saw a "for rent" sign on a house nearby me. Check out postings for Brunswick Avenue in the annex.

bathurst/college to bathurst and harbord tends to have a lot of decent spots too for 500/600/month per room in a shared house. depends if you're willing to live with students though.

i'd also suggest checking out 263 Adelaide St W (same spot as Loft 404) for vacant spots. you can get an entire studio space for 500/600.

I'd say my budget is around $600 a month just for rent. Right now I'm staying in Waterloo since I go to school there, but obviously I'll need a 4 month sublet for my internship in Toronto.

and you have to live downtown?

you can drive and park at kennedy stn or tak ethe bus there and just take the train downtown

is your intern a paid intern?

downtown is pricy

I don't have to live downtown breh, just preferably near a subway station so I can commute easily

yeah, downtown prices are killer, the internship pays well but I need to save up for school and all that :patrice: I'm currently looking at some of the areas near Ryerson or U of T, probably living with other students

:shaq2: you wouldn't mind renting a room I guess? You're going to have to try Scarborough

Champions league
for like max 600 you'll prob have to just rent a room / share a kitchen, washroom type thing or roomates.

mississauga for max 600 can get you a apt or a basement apartment
