Breh, that has been the go-to move for this season. What folks really don't want to talk about is how the funk bands were already done by 1982 with the introduction to Electro with Planet Rock and also with the rise of the Minneapolis Sound with the successes of Prince and The Time, which rendered all of the full service funk bands obsolete.


That is not only a dangerous conclusion that these artists came to, but it is flat out wrong for them to even blame hip-hop for the reason that they fell off.

Folks have to accept the reality that times change. Either adapt to the changes or end up like dinosaurs.

As happy as I am that they at least try to keep it going (because Behind the Music AFAIK is one of the best series ever and I wish it would come back), yeah, they're reaching hard on some artists. And there's still some that guys have mentioned here that haven't been made yet.

I just look at it like Black Behind the Music instead of the core purpose of why I'm sleeping on an artist.

Shout outs to Christopher Williams (BX all day) but he's Unsung because I overlooked him being Bobby Brown's Desiigner? Nobody sleeps on I'm Dreamin'. His story was interesting but really?

Watched Billy Paul episode.

Music was so honest back then. Dude blew of Me and Mrs Jones.. Instead of chasing another similar vibe, he backs it up with "Am I Black Enough For You"..
