Actually the graphics the Wii U could do is Pre Next Gen, compared to the tech sheet that is its more powerful than current Gen. 2x. I think Nintendo wanted to be first to come out with new hardware affordable. I believe Nintendo thinks it can release a yr ahead gain Fanbase like Wii did, then 4 years from PS4 and X720 release a Wii U2. Giving it a 5 yr life cycle and being first to rush tech. What Microsoft will do is use the Kinect 2.0 as its selling point and its slick interfaces, but who knows what Sony is plannin,g. Truth is Sony is winning since all consoles adopted Bluray, the media wins

First off, the "devs" have said since before the xbox or ps3 dropped that both were about equal. That each excelled at certain things
But that the xbox had the more powerful graphics card and better architecture/design
The ps3 had blu-ray and was capable of doing 1080p off the brickus
The xbox can now do that as well, and can even go as high as 1440p which the ps3 can't do.

What isn't bullshyt is the wii-u is actually LESS powerful than the ps3/360
And its not fair to say what you said about its graphical prowess because the wii-u is benefiting from the industry already being 6yrs in the game, working on systems with this amount of power.

I don't understand people that trip extra hard off graphics in 2012. There will never be as big a leap as there was from 16-bit to 32-bit, or from 2D to 3D. Not any time soon anyway, and definitely not in the next gen or two. How do I know? Because PCs are always a gen or two ahead of consoles, and those games look great, and better than consoles, but nothing comparable to let's say SNES "Super Mario World" vs "Final Fantasy VII" on the PS1. So just cop which ever console you prefer and KIM. Or if it's really that serious go drop 2gs on a gaming PC and KIM.

You wrote alot, but Xbox has the better graphics card and its easy to program for becuss its x86 based and Ps3 has the better processor . 360 has unified Ram and PS3 Ram split between OS. 360 was the lightshow monster and PS3 was the number count beast, too bad cell breakthrus just started happening, the tech is really futuristic.

You're talking about game engines, which has nothing to do with anything.
I'm talking about graphic cards. And for every "gen" for consoles, graphic cards go through about 4-5+ gens, if not more.

Your were talking about graphical improvements 360/ps3 can barely run Frostbite with hipccups; running Frostbite even near or close to current PC ultra settings will be a significant upgrade from right now. Not to mention the current gen is still reusing a 5 year old unreal engine as well. Current gen is holding the PC's graphics and art design . 2-3 years the wii-u will not be able to even run certain ports because of how dated the technology will be ; it will essentially be in the same first party only position as the wii.
The Wii U could possibly be the perfect all-round system:
- can play it as a serious gamer (assuming more third party devs are on board)
- can play it with ur girl
- can play it with or give it to ur kids.
- can play it in a party setting with casual gamers like the Wii
Not many systems can brag about doing all these things at once....
might have to cop this eventually.

true. A graphics card isnt much with out the coding, Game engine, and current consoles have been the holdup.
Here's the thing.... A 5 year old Unreal 3 engine looks better on PC than it does on a console. Why? Because there is no "current gen" for graphics cards. A GTX 690 isn't expected to last 7 years like a console gen....it will most likely be outdated in 7 months. So no matter when a new console comes out, it's already outdated.
That's my point though. There is nothing on the immediate horizon that is so
that it warrants buying a console solely for it's graphical capabilities. So if you want a Wii-U, cop a Wii-U. Or cop PS4 because of "Uncharted 4". Fred.

Face it, no Company is spending Millions of Millions on a PC alone title anymore because of Privacy Downloads, therefor most games are built from Console and ported to PC, since Games are developed on Console ( not for better graphics but for $$$ ) they arent taking cutting edge measurements to improve over just using old game coding engines that can be ported and modified to look better with better improvements.
