I was a stan since I was born, especially during the n64/Rare era. They made me into a fan again. Wii was too gimmicky for me. lol
Part of the reason i'm on board with this is its not as gimmick as the Wii. its an HD console with a focus on actual gameplay and innovation not motion controls.
Have any of you tried the voice/video chat feature yet?

Overall, this is a gimmick. Not even a good one. If there focus is current gen games for the hardcore, the hardcore have less than a year before Xbox 720 hits. Translation: in five years the wii-u will be dead for 2yrs already

The tablet isn't a gimmick its just an interface device. the motion controls were gimmicks.

I'm not the type of gamer that buys a console for a single title. if Xenoblade or Mario comes out and i wanna play that i wanna be able to walk in the store and buy it. same with Halo and Uncharted. i don't even wanna have to pass on a major title because i don't own the system to play it on.
honestly to me there's no such thing as a killer app in gaming. no single game justifies the purchase of a console to me because a console cost several hundred dollars and a game is maybe $60. the hell i look like paying $500 or so bucks to play one game?
