Let me clarify. The 3 hours of actual gameplay is from a dude on YouTube who beat the game supposedly. He's not the same guy posting walkthroughs but I don't think he's lieing because he was answering questions about it. Anyways the 3 hours means the rest of the game is cutscenes. Of course I don't think dude actually sat their and timed it its just estimate.

Either way you gotta take the game for what it is. It's gonna be more like a movie then a game. Not a bad thing it's good to play something different. Just won't have that replay value unless the story is really good. I still can't wait to play this.
Several dudes beat the game already and they said it took them 9-12 hours on average. I don't know why people are seriously running with that 3 hour narrative. shyt's stupid at this point.

the developers have activated damage control mode
Over the weekend a YouTuber called PlayMeThrough uploaded the entire game, including cutscenes, to the video site. Adding up the length of each video we get five hours and 30 minutes.

Last week I had a chat with Ru Weerasuriya, founder, CEO and creative director of Ready at Dawn, to discuss The Order's length after a previous report indicated it could be completed in just a few hours.

"I know there are numbers out there," he said. "I know why the question comes up. I know numbers have been put out there that are actually not right. It's impossible to finish the game in that time, so we know the numbers are wrong.

"At the end of the day, we're not going to comment on it. We can't stop people from writing the things they do. And we're not going to jump at every single mistake that is made out there. Every time somebody has the wrong impression of something we made, or somebody writes the wrong thing about what we did, it would be a full-time job to be like, oh no, that's not right. We make games. We do what we do for the players. And, ultimately, that's where I want to leave it."

While Weerasuriya denied The Order, which leans heavily on interactive cutscenes and quick-time events as it blends third-person shooting, exploration and puzzle-solving with in-engine cinematics, can be completed in just a few hours, it is clear the game won't be considered long by anyone's standards.

But how long, exactly, had Ready at Dawn's tests shown The Order to be? Weerasuriya wouldn't reveal the average playthrough time, but he was willing to enter into the debate about it.

"Game length is important," he said. "Every game has to take its own time to tell its story. Some games can be short. Some games can be long. I still remember the first time I picked up Modern Warfare, I finished the campaign in about three-and-a-half or four hours. And it was fun because they made that campaign work for that because they had something else.

"Any of these games need to pack in what it needs to to deliver the experience you were hoping to deliver when you first tackled it. For us that meant, it's not going to be a short game, it's going to be something that rewards you as you play through, that there is a storyline, that you have information there, and then also it opens the door to a lot of questions you might be able to answer either by what you find in the game, or hopefully by what you will find out in the future.

"Our industry is diverse enough that we need different games. We have to allow for different genres and single-player games like we do, multiplayer games, co-op games, social games, whatever it is."

The 3 hours is time actually spent controlling the player.

Its already confirmed that at least 6 of the chapters are cutscene only

We have video proof of a 5 hour play through.

We have random unconfirmed Sony Stan impressions that say 10hours.

the claim is that much of that "9-12 hours" is cut-scenes

do you purposely miss the point? :what:

Why are you running with a claim as if it's a fact?? Nobody is saying there isn't any cutscenes but everyone seems to have a different opinion on what constitutes as gameplay or what isn't.

Saying "There's entire chapters that are cutscenes" is saying nothing. That chapter could've been 4-5 minutes long.

Either way isn't the game being able to be beaten in 5-6 hours when rushing through kinda contradicting the "it's mostly cutscenes!" nonsense?? That would mean 3 hours is gameplay and about 2-3 hours is cutscenes or vice versa if I'm wrong.

Also does every time a QTE happen he quickly says to himself "WHOOP THAT'S 34 SECONDS OF QTE MARK THAT DOWN!!". Nah, you just got some random dude going off the top. I'm sure ain't nobody watch and calculate that shyt. You know you're delving into ridiculous, agenda ridden territory when shyt like how many minutes you were actively in control "counts". :camby:

So on a normal play someone would actually be in control of the character longer. If it takes 9 hours to finish on normal difficulty, that means there's way more time spent playing the game. The fukk, did these dudes play the game with a stopwatch?? Ridiculous. And don't use that smiley on me again nikka.

An interactive tech demo for $65?

Nah...

I mean is there some sort of confirmation that they can even put more than 5 characters on the screen at once?

Would you also post the part where that youtuber said the game is worth buying and he'd buy it again if he didn't already have it??

Or are you just going to continue conflating an outlier playthrough length with the actual quality of the game?

Never said anything about quality. You're in here trying to claim people are lying when there's video evidence of it. And he didn't rush through the game. Its not like he was doing a speed run, he followed the objectives as he was given them.

What we don't have is any substantial evidence to back up the claims of 10 - 12 hours. But you keep posting that shyt as gosepel. :stopitslime:
