anyway. info on review imargo

So, when exactly the official review embargo on The Order: 1886 ends? PlayStation fans will be happy to know that its ends before the game launches and the difference is of about 16 hours (i.e. review embargo on The Order: 1886 end 16 hours before game's official release).

In another news, NeoGaf user Theman2k has completed The Order: 1886 and has shared his final impression for the game. Here is what he has to say about it:

"Well here are my final impressions for the game, i'll review parts of the game in different categories , then the overall experience and summary. I'll try to sum up everything as much as I can."

Graphics:

•Technical marvel. True next-gen experience, on all fronts.
•No loading times, super silky smooth frame rate (you all be surprised how smooth it is), no graphic glitches, amazing and consistent art all around.
•A lot of times it's hard for you to grasp it's even a game running real time.
•Black bars didn't really filled their job.
•Making transitions back to gameplay already done better in games like MGS. They downgraded from the experience, from gameplay side and from art side.

Sound:

•True 1886 era fitted music, amazing score and theme.
•Voice acting is top notch all around.
•Were moments I was surprised the developers added some of the sounds you usually don't hear while interacting with the environment.
•The theme really works and sticks with you, other times though really good music kicks in but can be forgettable easily.

Menu and UI:

•Menu is on the light side, something I like.
•It's easy to navigate, and to understand and looks good.
•Only thing that comes to mind on the bad side, is the weapon selection UI.
•It's too big and centered in the middle of the screen, not very good while action is going.
•No option to change button layouts is a big negative.

Pacing and story:

•Starts really slow, the intro stays it's welcome way too much.
•And on top of bad paced intro, it comes instead of good exposition that I felt lacking most of the game.
•The story starts to pick up from late middle of the game, but when it does it grabs you so hard it makes you want to continue playing nonstop. Really emotional and good, something a lot of games having hard time to achieve.
•Characters are really believable and make strong impact.
•Sometimes the story kicks you to some places, which you wander what happened between the last cut scene to the next. I felt out of place when it happened, it felt unnatural to the flow of the game.
•Sadly the game ends way too quick after the story really shines and makes you feel you deserved more.

Gameplay:

•Odd design and gameplay decisions plague this game.
•Basic cover and stealth mechanics makes a solid shooting encounters.
•It also fails to explain in depth cover mechanics like camera bias (which is off by default) and corner cover switching, taking into account the game has a very long intro to introduce them.
•You actually use some of the weapons once or twice the entire game. Made me wish I could use them more in the first time playing.
•Setting up encounters in terms of level design and weapon placement can be better.
•It's on par with k!llZone SF right now.
•QTE's in the game strike me as a failure from the gameplay design aspect for making better shooting encounters and "boos battles". Like Far Cry 3.

Overall:

•Game is AAA with high production values, I don't think the negative outweighs the positive.
•In a sense it's more of a journey, a really good and polished one we must endure till a sequel that will make good on gameplay without any black bars.
•Is it worth the price of admission now? Yes.
•There's nothing else like it on the market now, the wow factor is really big.
•And if we put aside the wow factor, it's still a good polished story driven game with production values trough the roof.
•Granted if you played uncharted or gears, there's a lot of room this game doesn't deliver, but overall it's something you can't allow yourself not to experience.

is that a real gripe?...i ask cause I can do that on a lot of games that don't include fake 'extend game length' trophies like: kill x amount with a certain weapon, do something x amount of times, or reach a certain level online....and those games I've done it with were fun as shyt, and I didn't care about the length of the game....cause length doesn't determine fun....

anyway, so what is the big 'how dare they?' that's going on with this game: it's supposedly short?...I don't care....I've been interested in this game since I heard about it and that interest has only gone up the more info that's come out, so i'm copping day 1....that's how i am/do with games i want to play, i cop them day 1.....if it turns out to be short as shyt, but it's a damn good game( fun, good story, gameplay, etc.), i'm good....if it turns out to be short as shyt and the game isnt a good game, lesson learned...i know i'm only speaking for me, and I understand if others don't feel the same way....but for people to act like length determines if a game is good? that's bullshyt...

breh i hate that shyt in games.. i don't care about trophies or 100% completion or repeating tasks till you get some special trophy. I will repeat the game as many times as i want depending on how good the game is and how fun my experience was playing it the first time and if the trophies come with it, then all the more fun. Same with DLC, i have yet to pay for a dlc.. i don't care about that and will never support it.

i don't mind playing a game that is between 10-12 hours. Again, if i'm paying $69.99 a game, it better have some damn good replayability, meaning that I can pick it up at any time and will feel like it's the first time i'm playing it. To me that's how the barometer is set, and it's been set with games like RE4/5, Uncharted 2, God of War III, Dead Space 1,2 & 3 etc etc....These are games I can play at any time and not get bored and still enjoy the shyt out of it..

Trust me, i'm a huge sony fan and i want this game to succeed. I was also hyped for the game till the length of the game came out. Even RAD could not explain why they made a short game. Why should I buy the game now at $69.99, when in 3 months i can experience it for 29.99? I'm gonna play the game eventually, but i just wished RAD spent more time fleshing out the story and extending the actual game rather than caring how the main characters facial reaction gonna look. And judging from what i've read from most sites, they all feel the same.

Still don't get the whole buy a game knowing you gonna sell it days later angle.

Might as well skip it and save the 60.
Its logic like this that defends why people buy digital only. If I can buy it for $48 at best buy and sell it weeks later for $40, what's the problem?

Half of the game is fukking cut scenes and the rest is pressing one button to perform an action. If you remove the blur effect, the game looks like it was made in 2011.

Not to mention that there are no games this "next gen" (lol).

With Steam there is no point in this shytty consoles that can't even run at 60fps.
